I can wait till tuesday to get laid again. Makes them thirsty bitches even thirstier. and in the case you were talking to j.j. then .... 'yeah motherfucker'.
Well it is reassuring to find that you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Fortunately for you, informed opinions have as much value in Canada as those of the impressionable; those that are the product of mendacious propaganda.
We had a second election that ended in the same results that we began with: a minority conservative government. The good thing about a minority government is that the other parties have more of a say in legislation. Despite whether or not you voted for Stephen Harper, he was elected in. It is completely out of line for Dion to think he can take over without an established election. While I can understand why Harper shut down parliament, I am not happy with his decision.
Thanks for sharing I agree with what you say, especially in that it is a huge waste of time and resources. From this perspective it is frustrating for EVERY Canadian, especially in times like these, when something radical needs to be done. But that's where conflict arises... something radical needs to be done. According to Harper, fixing the economic crises entails cutting off slabs of Canada and feeding them to private entities. I agree that Harper was elected, and that we as Canadians should be showing him support in rough times. However, if you employ someone on a two-year contract, and they never show up to work, cause hell, etc., should they be kept on the payroll? The Americans elected Bush twice. He definitely pushed those limits. What if he had been even more radical? What if he had internment camps for any Arabic people, on the basis of "potential terrorist"? What if he had invaded other countries? I'm not comparing Harper to this, but as far as I'm concerned, Canadians should have higher standards than what has gone on in the USA for the last 8 years.
It's funny because our choice is either an asshat (harper) or a joke (coalition). We're f'ed if we do, we're f'ed if we don't. Harper has shown he's quite an idiot lately with the ballsy stuff he tried to push, but maybe, and it's me hoping against hope, he's learned not to be so dictatorial? Maybe he could actually do ok now . . . but I don't think he'll be given that chance, canada wants him out, and we're gonna get a bunch of guys who can't even play nice in the playground.
Cate, you're a woman. How can you support Harper when he's cut programs and services for women? And now Harper is saying that women cannot sue for pay equity rights. A woman's dollar is not as good as a man's according to Harper. How can you support that message? http://www.thestar.com/living/article/548710
Well I could care less as to how they treat each other, so long as they can treat the playground equipment with respect. Harper gets along quite nicely with himself, but he has metaphorically turned playgrounds into Wallmarts.
Cate, exactly. They are saying that they don't want to pass legislation to sell of Canadian assets in a buyer's market - like Harper pledged he would do. The other parties are saying right now that they don't like Harper's legislation, and he's not listening. At the rally yesterday, Jack Layton said to the crowd that he personally spoke with Harper after the last election and was assured by him that he was going to work with the other parties. The other parties have lost confidence in Mr. Harper, because he lied. He wants to cut political party funding, give out corporate tax cuts to his friends while we're in a recession. And btw, it was only a couple weeks ago that Harper was saying "What Economic Crisis?" Just goes to show you how out of touch he is with the world. What happened to government transparency? Government accountability? Fixed elections? He breaks his own laws and governs as a tyrant. I say that it's time to unite the Left, the parties that actually represent the majority of Canadians and govern better than Harper could ever imagine. Let's put the environment and renewable energy back on the forefront, social medicine, public transit, public childcare, etc. All the policies that are progressive for a better Canada. Why would anyone in their right mind support a Harpocracy?
He wasn't "elected in". His constituency voted him to have a seat in Parliament and his political party elected him as their party leader. As leader, his party didn't have enough seats to be elected in. He had a minority. So he approached the Governor General and asked to form a government. Now that the Left has united, they have formed a majority - enough seats to govern and form a majority government. All they have to do is go to the GG and ask to form a government. Dion doesn't want to "take over" - he's officially resigned. He actually wants out. Where did you read that he wanted to take over government??? His party asked him very nicely to act as Interim Leader so he said "okay."
My friends went to that.... they said it was awesome. Stephen Harper is such an idiot... lol theres a part in the video with a guy holding a sign that says 'All I want for Christmas is democracy'. I love it.
What I dont understand, is are the coalition going to hold a vote? How exactly are they going to come into power, who will be the leader, it doesnt make sense to me at all. And by the way, I didnt vote for Harper, nor any of the parties of the coalition.
