but now its been so long since i've had it regularly....

i just made a coffee press with some kenyan coffee....

and i'm afraid to drink it almost. i'm not used to having it anymore - i fear the caffeine haha....

but it smells wonderful and i am really looking forward to it, too

i used to be able to get up and be at work at 5 or 5:30AM, drink 8-12 shots of espresso on the clock, then go home and take a nap regardless

    (but i'm scared)

also, i highly recommend a french press to anybody who enjoys full bodied coffee, it makes much better coffee than a regular drip pot

I gave up coffee 6 years ago, but I tell you I am tempted to drink a coffee. Everytime I walked past a coffeehouse, the smell is just so tempting. I feel like having one coffee as a one off, but I'd be too scared of getting addicted again. Coffee just fucks up my whole bio-rhythm.

its not quite as good, but a decent alternative is to get a reusable metal filter for your coffee pot, which would be cheaper and more convenient (you need to get your coffee specially coarse ground for a press)

the biggest benefit lies in using a metal mesh instead of a paper filter, because the paper filters are really tight and really absorbant, and they trap a lot of the flavorful oils which would otherwise be present in the coffee. using a coarser mesh will allow more of these oils to get into the final brew, making a better cup of coffee.

a metal filter for a coffee pot won't do as good a job of this as a press would, but it is still a step up from paper filters and would be more convenient and less expensive

That's what I have... and the grinding would be no problem, I work at a coffeehouse.

    oh alright then

yeah a press is a great idea then. i recommend a metal press. they dont look as nice as the glass ones, but they hold their temperature better and they'll never break.

    yuk yuk YUCK.

My dad used to drink coffee, he stopped a few years ago but when he still drunk it we had a large pot of it. Well this was before when we had our crappy washing machine, this washing machine leaked and always got water all over the kitchen floor. Guess what happened. The coffee pot fell into the water and the whole place fucking STUNK of coffee. This was back when the smell to me was unbearable.

Now the smells not so bad, after that it became slightly more bearable, slightly, but I'd choose tea over coffee anyday.

I have a cappucino maker so I like to make these latte type things...adding vanilla extract to the milk before it foams, using some organic fresh ground coffee beans, and adding a little unprocessed sugar to the coffee cup.......mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I drink shitloads of it.. total caffeine addict :D

Back when I worked on reception I'd get through 8 or more cups a day. Now working nights it's 5 or 6 on a night.. although I stop at 5AM cause I want to actually get some sleep :p
