Do you guys have any tips for what to do with my eyes? They've always had dark circles under the, the skin is pretty thin, but makeup won't cover it up. I have a dermatologist, but I don't have another appointment with her for a while. Any creams or.. things?
A decent night's sleep every night, and a natural light moisturizer. Are you getting enough iron in your diet?
I usually get enough sleep (9-10 hours at most), I'm not sure about iron, and what kind of moisturizer?
I have the same problem. I've had dark circles under my eyes for years, even before I had my kids. I think they're worse now though, because although my three tikes sleep through the night, I am constantly in the R.E.M. stage of sleep because it's like I always have "one ear open" to hear them if they should need me, so I am sleeping very light and I always wake up feeling like I need more sleep. I take a multi-vitamin, and I use moisterizers, but it doesn't seem to do much for them. I think some people are just gentically more prone to them than others. {{{HUGS}}}
Well my mom had this cream for dark circles under ur eyes from like avon or something, ur suposed to put it on like each day for 2 weeks. I tried to do it, but i jus kept forgetting! but anyways, i don't relaly mind my dark circles under my eyes....they add character!!!
Allergies can cause dark circles. The worst offender of this is dairy products. Try eliminating dairy for a month or more and see if it helps.
Wow, I never knew that dark circles could be allergy related. That's pretty interesting. I myself have a lot of other allergy symptoms, although I haven't been tested for allergies in probably 15 years. Hmmm...
I get puffy under the eyes sometimes, and it's more red than dark, but cool cucumber slices are fabulous for that, and Burt's Bees makes a under eye cream made with marshmallows I think...
Maggie I'm vegan, and I don't think I have any allergies other than pennicilin and erythromicin (sp).. how do you get tested for them?
Well, you can go on an elimination diet. Start with things like Corn and wheat (one at a time) or you can go to an allergist and he or she can do some blood work and "scratch tests" which can point you in the right direction. Enviromental allergies, pollen, weeds, mold, can also effect the eyes. The reason this happens is that small blood vessels expand and sometimes burst when you are having allergic symptoms. Because the skin under your eyes is so think and light, the blood shows through. I hope you can feel better.
that's Very interesting to me too!- because ive had these horrible dark circles under my eyes for years.... ever since i was like 12.... teachers in high school used to tell me i needed to sleep more and when i told them that i had slept NINE HOURS!!! the night before, they wouldnt believe me. i wonder if thats what it is for me and if not, what else it could be....
i have dark circles - really dark - they are like my scars from my insomnia years. i would like to be rid of them though
In the UK if you go for allergy testing they just take some blood, or a DNA sample (I'm not entirely sure). They then mix it with chemicals that people are commonly allergic to. From the reaction they can judge wether you are allergic or not.
That is a RAST test. It subjects your blood to allergens and looks at allergic markers, it does not use dna. Most doctors do this in addition to scratch testing. Both are needed, as there are different types of allergies.
you know, i used to definitely have some nasty circles under my eyes, but at some point in the last year or so, they've gone away. my ex-boyfriend who was an excessive stress on my life has also gone away.. hmm... stress maybe?
