28 years ago, this day, the great john lennon was shot and it was a sad moment for all, i want you to post here your thoughts on this great artist, this LEGEND "All we are saying, is give peace a chance" - john lennon
didnt see the big deal then and i dont now. just like the rest of the beatles he was highly overrated as a musician and a song writer..
Like wise, I was working at supreme cleaners, cut class to go to work that day... a sad day indeed... But, his messages will always live on.. they will be immortal... and since will all die, at least, he made the world a better place to live in with his time well spent on this astral plane... Thanks John... you gave hope to so many and it still lives on today... cheers:cheers2:
i dont care. i think the beatles were great and all, but i do think they were a touch overrated (but dont care to argue this tonight) i think some of his work with the beatles was pretty cool. i do not like his solo stuff at all. i also think he was an utter hypocrite and a somewhat unlikable guy. i really dont care about john lennon.
Out of all four of the beatles, he was the most respectable and came to his senses the most of the four. In many of his songs, if you look at the lyrics, he speaks about how has was being used (there was a reason there was an attempted deportation of the guy). Just delve into it. In that sense, I have respect for the guy.
I was in the 8th grade, my history teacher taped a news article about the shooting on the door to our classroom. This must have been the day after but I think i might have cried a little.I remember for sure being sad, it just seemed snseless, why did he deserve to die?Who did he ever hurt? I always naieve and a little melodramatic. Anyway he mastered realy cool low harmony parts, and came up with simple but tastefull rythm guitar chops as well in my opinion. RIP Indeed
