I find it sad that people find a need to bash someone who has been murdered. You dont have to like him, but show some respect.


Also, might I suggest a little study on how the man changed the music industry - basically if you listen to music made after 1966 you have John to thank in some way for what you are hearing. Asshole? Maybe... Creative force that altered how recorded music was made? Absolutely.

I actually find this whole idealization and respect for someone like John Lennon extremely silly.

Oh it's so sad, he got murdered, well people get murdered every day. And Im not gonna lie, I had my "I love John Lennon" phase when I was like 15, but I was also a dumb kid. Now I know better.

 

John Lennon was a douche bag.
But what must be remembered, is that most people are douche bags too.

 

Yeah, I totally went through a I love Lennon phase when I was a kid as well, and there's nothing wrong with that...

Yet idealizing his sorry ass into adulthood is silly. Just as silly as it is to classify oneself as a "hippie" or such other dumb stereotype into adulthood.

But most people are just overgrown children, after all.

 

And remember kids, if you're a hippie you must love John Lennon

I dont know, maybe I wouldnt find it as silly if I saw people remembering, discussing other people. There has been a lot of cool motherfuckers who have done a lot of cool shit and Im not saying we should be talking about anybody, but if you're gonna be talking about people like John Lennon, might aswell.

Maybe Im just fed up with seeing the same thread every year and the people saying the exact same things.

Yup, on Monday, I burned a candle at the Lennon's Wall in Prague.. I do that every year on the 8th of Dec..

 

I never had a phase of loving him. I had a phase of loving the Beatles, but after all their drama and the fact two are dead etc. I couldn't really get into the music as much. I still like them though.

In fact, there was a Beatles Question on the maths functional paper today! Dude had like 256mb of space on his mp3 player, 1mb is a minute of playing time, which albums would he rip to use all the space up? Then one of the regulating dudes was wearing a beatles top. xD

 

Yes, a lot of better people than Lennon have died.
