This might be the wrong place to ask - being a forum full of hippies and all, but does anyone carry a knife? Got any recommendations?

I have a few balisongs and fixed blades, but the knife I used to carry all the time got stolen when I lived in florida. It was a torsion bar assisted opening Kershaw, the Ken Onion Blackout. Great knife, the problem is it wasn't very flat and I usually wear it clipped to my back pocket so I can grab it quick if I need to. I'm looking at a couple SOGs, the Flash II and the Stingray 2.0.

This is what I carried before:

I know who stole it too, this fucking redneck at work. I just couldn't prove it. Good thing for him too because I would have beat his ass for stealing my stuff.

Shit is pretty real around here though, it's time for a new blade. I just took my dog out and had a crackhead walking behind singing some crazy shit. Then I walked through a park and a group of shady latinos drinking. Then a car with 3 black dudes pulled up, stopped, looked at me then my dog, and drove off. I guess being a big dude in a hoodie and beanie with a pissed off look, and having a big dog pays off. It feels good too because I used to get jacked all the time growing up before I got big. Now its like yea what, nigga? But I don't want to get too cocky. This area has 5,000 ms-13 members alone, thats not even counting the other gangs. And they are fucking hardcore brutal.

Maybe I should get another gun.

Where In The Hell Are You..??

I Just Cannot Imagine Having To Carry A Weapon (knife or gun) In A Public Place..:(

If You Did That In This Country..

And You Were Not A Cop Or Licensed Security Guard..

You'd Get 5 Years Expenses Paid Accomodation In The States Chain Of

    "Luxury Motels".....(holiday resorts).....:D.

    Cheers Glen.

Haha :D Thanks that would be cool. I'm talking to my friend on aim whos in afghanistan, and he is suggesting all kinds of stuff. I'm overwhelmed..

Tool, weapon, is there really much of a difference? Unless you are talking about a Leatherman or some shit..

Whaaa  Thats crazy bro. You can carry anything here pretty much, just no automatics. And depending on the size, or if its fixed blade, it must be visible. You can walk around here with a gun as long as it's holstered and visible. I've seen suckas strapped at Starbucks. And a concealed carry permit is easily attainable. Ahh, gotta love 2nd amendment rights.

What the fuck, are you serious?

You're in Toronto? I love liberal areas, but when it comes to this kind of stuff they really bother me.

I'm talking about a fixed blade, full tang, four inch blade, three inch handle spade knife, a locking blade knife, three inch blade that's almost 80 years old, and a tiny two blade folder that used to be very much like a swiss army knife, but I stripped down most of it's decorative casing, and now I can keep it in my boot heel, since my boots are full of metal anyway, and there is a metal bar that goes through the sole under that heel, it works very well in remaining concealed, it is hard to retrieve in a snap, but if I am somewhere that I need a knife for something and am not supposed to have one, it helps.

    Washington DC metro area.

I'm right over the border in Virginia, so we have lenient gun and weapons laws compared to DC proper.

It gets pretty rough. Drive by's, home invasions/murders, rape, armed robbery, gang initiations that involve cutting off peoples hands, senseless violence just to prove you're hard, shanking people for clothes and gear, and it goes on..

i no knife expert but i always have one.

depends on the what im doing, and where. normally no i dont carry one. but a spring blade (not a switch that i want) always in my car, along with a baseball bat with grip. i just feel safer.

you just never know when you need protection.

    Yep :p

And the crazy thing is I don't even live in the hood. A lot of my neighbors drive bimmers and benzes. There are entire areas and neighborhoods around this city I just DON'T go.
