Today is/was Universal Human Rights Day.

Did you do anything special today?
Did you even know that this day even existed?

Unfortunately I'm still recovering and wasn't able to participate in anything outside of my house. But, I did everything I could do to help and bring my family closer together. That's a real difficult nowadays.
    I like to ramble. =]

    Peace, Love, Light

I really dislike the concept of having a day dedicated to something.

It always ends up dumbing the actual even out, getting commercial, and eventually not really celebrating what the day was intended for.

I bet that "Human Rights Day" is just full of drugged up concerts and insignificant rallies. The actual fight for human rights is much more brutal and much more real. Dedicating a day to it seems to be taking away from the cause.

Take MLK Day, per example. It always ends up with riots or dumb fights in large marches.

    You're probally exactly right.
But, I take this day (like all others) to do something to make the world better, albeit perhaps just my world.

Cleaned the house, did the dishes, took out the trash & recycling bins, did laundry, cooked dinner, and bought my father some beer.
Hah. I know, insignificant to the rest of the world, but it helped my family. And, I like to think every little bit helps.

You should make a habit out of helping your family like that everyday.

    I do try to.
Just, recently I wasn't able to.
But, it's nice to be back amongst the living.

Good for you. Your family should enjoy it before you become cynical and realize that you have better things to do... like drinking.
