To see if Keanu comes even 'near' Micheal Rene in acting skill.

I really do like that movie. I think it has some of the most lamebrain comedy, but that is what makes me laugh. I did like him in Point Break to. But this movie, I have never heard of it. I will have to go and read about it.

Sorry. I should have said you need to watch
"The day the earth stood still"
The original movie B&W [1951] staring Micheal Rene.

Rene can say a 100 words with one lift of the eyebrow.

Reeves still leaves me cold with his gangling idiot persona in the matrix.
The shorts of this movie however will show you a new 'serious aspect
to keanu.. No more bill and ted.

It seems like Keanu tries to play that role in every movie he does

For his role in the remake of Day, Reeves is perfect for an alien trying to get used to a corporeal body. In fact, the role is so natural to him, makes me wonder if he's acting at all. Hmmm.

Maybe someone has been hanging around this planet taking notes and hiding out in plain sight.

    Klaatu = Keanu

Here is my take on the new movie:

sigh....am i the only one that enjoyed this movie?....

i rushed to the trailer video on youtube to check out the comments after seeing it hoping a handful of people at least learned a lesson from it but i was bombarded by inflammatory remarks

and he does seem to play the exact same character in every movie

I really enjoyed it and plan to see it again, either in theater or when the DVD comes out.

As stated in my movie blurb:
    http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/s...t=339998&f=287

I think a lot of ppl are miffed at treading on a "classic" and did not even give this flick a chance. Discussion boards have been dissing this movie for a year - sight unseen. That is called prejudice when applied to other venue.

Altho mine is a minority view it did do well at the box office last weekend.

What started out as a good idea faded away fast, and while I don’t doubt for a moment the government would be interested in asking him questions (hopefully deep penetrating questions with cosmological significance to mankind) I doubt they would attempt to coerce him through the use of pharmaceuticals [IMG]

the ad for it always makes me laugh when Keanu says, 'no it is not' in response to 'this is our planet!' not much acting involved in him playing an alien though
