Omg really!?! I feel like soo much less of a freak now. i have said that and thought people would die in response. Yes, ledger performance was awesome- thats really all it had tho. I really loathed batman begins. Whiney emo batman =shit.
Yea cause Gotham only has two boats. Two boats, no more. One for citizens and one for criminals. Who comes up with this stuff. I mean seriously Commissioner "Jesus 'Fake Death' Christ" Gordon, Two-Face with his amazing power to survive car crashes and face explosions his only weakness, being tackled out of a window by a man that isn't suspose to kill people, wire-tapping batman, batman's voice, batman not throwing batarangs, batman in japan, lizard tongue Joker who always talk like he has a mouth full of saliva, Joker's disapearing act after throwing the girl out of the window, batman catching girl and surviving fall (despite two-face falling half as far not being quite as lucky), etc. etc. This movie just really grinds my gears its whole self-riteousness, and Nolan fanboys screaming "THIS IS SO REAL". No. Its not real. Its a superhero movie it will never be real. Let superhero movies be superhermovies. I am honestly dumbfounded how someone could enjoy watching this movie. I can just picture Nolan making bets to his friends about how lame, unexciting, unrealistic he can amke this movie and still make a shitload of money. Overall I found the whole movie poorly written and overhyped. I remember hwo painful it was siting in that theater watching that movie now. I dont ever want to see it again. I dotn even want to talk about it anymore.
I loved The Dark Knight. My brother wasn't fond of it but eh.. I just overall found it funny.. And today in my maths exam I looked up at the ceiling and there was this huge stain which looked like the Joker's smeared makeup.
Who cares about the boats? Gotham's not supposed to be such a huge town anyway and some of the boats can be at sea. He does the husky voice because he has to cover his identity. Batarangs? Come on. Hong Kong is in China not Japan + the whole sequence there was awesome. Ledger brought something new to the Joker, Nicholson just did Nicholson. He survived the fall because he's wearing body armor.
You are right Gotham is not a huge town. It is a gigantic city. I don't care why he does it. It is annoying. If you don't want to watch amovie with batarangs you don't want to watch a batman movie. This sequence was not awesome. The cell phone trick? lame. Airplane stunt? lame. Batman revealing his identity to some chinks? lame. The Joker doesn't need anything new brought. Nicholson played his part. He played the Joker. Ledger's character is not the Joker. *Gasp* the realism
What's wrong with updating things? Why stick to some old-ass formula? I'm not saying Nicholson was bad, he's a good actor but I never thought he had much range. As for the other shit - did I sleep through a press conference where Nolan said that his movie was going to be 100% realistic? Just enjoy it for what it is, it's a more realistic take on Batman meaning more realistic than the earlier movies.
I guess thats the catch. Some don't really want a realistic batman. Batman was great as batman. Not a whiny emo child.... hell ,for that there is always spiderman. ...don't hate me mojo.
I find Burton's Batman to be way more believable. Batman accidentally knocks some guy in a vat of chemicals, bleaches his skin and does some crazy stuff to get revenge. Makes sense. I'll give you the Joker shooting down the bat-plane with a pistol pretty unbelievable but other than that nothing in the movie is totally improbable. However The Dark Knight is chock full of not only improbabilities but impossibilities. I wouldn't hate the movie so much if Nolan and his followers would admit how outlandish the movie really is.
Makes sense? Find me the name of the chemical that doesn't kill you when you fall into it but bleaches your skin, makes your hair green and makes a very specific smile-cut to your face.
If this is "realistic" compared to batman I considered already great from the comics, cartoon and yes Burton Batman movie,,than I would rather not have the "realism". --- since realism seems to come with a whiny emo 3 hour long batman ,with only really dark implausable action sequences.
http://www.skinhelp.co.uk/dangers-illegal-skin-bleach.html "These prescription or over the counter skin remedies use chemicals to bleach the skin and remove surface pigmentation in the skin cells." AS for the green hair and larger smile(its not cut this isn't emo Nolan Joker) I find those to be more believable than any single action scene in the dark knight including but not limited to: Two-face's immunity to infection and disease, Joker's explosions putting Hiroshima to shame, Batman's cell phone thing, I dunno I'm tired of arguing about this. You can like this movie. I however choose to not ride Nolan's dick and see the movie for what it really is: garbage.
Macaulay Culkin can undoubtedly testify to having seen many of these products at Michael Jackson's Neverland ranch Hotwater
1. it's a comic book movie, dude, chill out, have you SEEN the shit that has come from comic book movies? this is a step forward 2. I'd be more concerned about mister dent's ability to speak, that hole in his cheek would at LEAST render him severely speech impaired.
Someone has a bad attitude. For someone who hates the movie so much you are talking about it way too much... so you don't like it. We ALL got that.
Come on now you have to admit the critics played up this movie like it was the second coming of Gone with the Wind, Citizen Kane, or Casablanca Hotwater
It was ok. I felt the story was too slow and then it felt too rushed at other parts. I didn't think a second villian was necessary and that story could have been told all on its own. My partner didn't like it at all. So to those who didn't like it....there are many of us
That's just the thing its not a step forward. Its a step backward. I feel Burton's Batman is better written, has better performances, a better overall plot and was handled more professionally. Not to mention it doesn't have the air of arrogance that the dark knight has, bragging about its realism and being the single greatest movie of all time. P.S. I also think its worth mentioning that Nolan looked to Burton's work for inspiration. He obviously based his two-face design from the martians in Mars Attacks!
