I love wine! My favorite is malbec, which is an Argentinean wine that I guess most closely resembles a merlot. My girlfriend is a huge wine drinker, so we usually have it around.
I got this thing called a wine vintage card that was part of that curvemag wine piece. It gives you advise on what to buy. Been using it whenever I buy wine. Very neat. Wrong, honeyfugle, I don't really like wine. I don't drink much, but if I had to, my drink of choice would be rum all the way. I love the sweet. BUT I do really like Stoneleigh sauvignon blanc, so if you can find that, give it a sample. It's a NZ wine, I think.
I like wine. Both red and white. My preferred red wine is Merlot and white wine is Chardonnay. I have 2 bottles left over from Thanksgiving (Merlot and Chardonnay). No one wanted to take them home, so I volunteered to take them. Now, I need to either find someone to share it with, or have a little solitary party here at home by myself.

My preferences seem similar to yours! I don't generally care for wine but I will have a glass at a party every now and then. But I LOVE rum! I could drink that any day, any time.
