"Aunt Tara, why do you have dreads?"

"Because it's just what I wanted to do with my hair," I reply.

He grabs a lock and tries to separate it at the middle, "Your hair won't move!" I explain to him that that's what a dread is. A big mess of knots and that's what happens when you don't brush your hair. He HATES the hairbrush and most weeks goes days without brushing his hair and I've seen the beginning of dreads multiple times. My sister says no way to dreads (he will be 6 in March) but his hair is so long and curly, and dreads fast!

ANyway, I showed him the inspiration pic thread here and he was ecstatic about a chick with orange dreads. He begged me to do it. I told him I would dye one of them orange for him. I'll let him pick which one :)

Aww that's cute! My sister is 6 and she hates the hairbrush, but when I tell her to stop brushing she tells me she doesn't like dreadlocks =(
