This of course is hypothetical because the chances of the entire world going vegan in the future is impossible. However, if it WAS possible, what do you think would have to happen NOW? My main concern is how politicians are affected by the beef and dairy and fast food industries. How can the world be educated to know that these industries have perpetuated the myth that consuming their products will make them healthy? What types of activities or campaigns do you think have the most affect in turning people away from consuming and wearing animals? (slaughterhouse footage? Education about veganism? Education about the environment? Celebrity and other endorsements? Anything else?) And what do you think the future would be like if everyone was vegan? What would happen to all the restaurants (fast food and other?) What would happen to the economy? What industries would disappear and which would flourish? What would happen to the hunting industry? What about the fashion industry? Zoos? Circuses? Vivisection? What about all the people who are now employed in the business of animal slaughter? (not just slaughterhouse employees, but truck drivers, etc) What will happen to the crime rates? Will they go down? (would people be less aggressive if they did not eat meat?) Do you think religious / spiritual people will feel more in tune with their god or goddess or gods because they are finally not taking part in anything that kills another living being? What do you think would happen to the health industry once people aren't getting sick and dying from consuming all the meat and dairy? How else would the world be affected in POSITIVE ways?
wow this is such a thought provoking thread. ok well i am a vegan, and this has crossed my mind, i think that the world would be a better place, we would really think about things that we look over now. sadly we are humans so we are always going to fuck up even if we did all go tofu mad. good point about the spiritiual aspect, yes i think it would bring us closer to our gods (or what ever anyone believes in) only vegan restaurants-excellent. we could feed the whole world, no need to cut down the rain forest, everyone would be healthier, better for the enviroment. there are plenty of other diseases that come from many things over then dairy or meat consumption. no circuses-they were scary anyway. all the meat/dairy industry jobs would be replaced with the vegan food industry jobs. no vivisection-finally, because we have other means of testing drugs. i think it would be a kind of eutopia. very interesting to see what other people think about this. blessings to you xxx
The cruelty against defenseless vegetables and plants must stop! Support the VLF and fight against the brutal plant-killers of this world. Let us eat nourishing and healthy meat instead of slaughtering the oxygen-producing beautiful organisms that lead their lives in silence and oppression from all animals, including human beings. Just because they don't speak doesn't mean they don't suffer. Imagine the pain a potato must feel when you boil it! Or how a tomato screams in silent agony when you slice it with a sharp knife! Our ancestors knew this, they hunted down and slayed the giant plant killing mammoth and ate it's red raw meat with pleasure!
