Hey all, I'm just starting out tattooing, and looking for a few brave people to work on to build up a basic portfolio. My lining is steady, but my shading needs work and friendly tips, but as with everything in this life you have to practice to get good, and anyone with simple basic, small designs who wants to get themselves some artwork is welcome. I am very hygiene conscious, and also conscious of my own limits so if the design is beyond my current abilities I will tell you straight. I prefer if I am working on someone who I don't personally know to have one of my friends present (safety first as always). I am based in North Austin,TX at the moment and have no transport, I am willing to come to your house/apartment but it would depend on being able to work out a way to get there (Austin is not very public transport friendly a lot of the time). Weekends work best for me, but depending on my day job's workload I can do afternoons/evenings too. I do have to warn you that due to my past I do get nervous about a lot of people around me (a kind of claustrophobia/fear of new peoples and crowds), so if I don't feel comfortable and in the artistic groove I will tell you... better that then not telling you 4 damn sure. However my artwork is really developing good - my lining is getting fucking awesome for real. I don't really get on here much anymore - still no computer of my own and limited email access at my dayjob, but I can be emailed at robhenden@gmail.com if you're in Austin and are willing, or if you have any friendly tips and advice. BTW with the advice - no "buy yourself an apprenticeship" stuff, because 1) I do not have cash, 2) I do not agree with paying someone to work for them and make them money (the old union philosophy and sense of fair play in me coming through), 3) to develop under someone elses tutelage can at times severly hinder your own personal development unless you see the world and life through the same eyes.
