1.) How old were you when you first tried LSD?
    Was 20. Am 21!

2.) What inspired you to first do it (ask: why did you do it)?
Well I was actually only into hash and weed. My friend was sitting on the passenger seat next to while I was driving, and all of a sudden he popped up some wierd paper and said 'Try it'. I asked him what it is. He said acid. I didnt know what the hell he was talking about. If he said LSD then I would have never done it, cause was against all the stuff. I always thought LSD was a hard drug, like heroine (stupid me!). So what the heck, he gave me a blotter, I was still driving, I immediately swallowed it, only to realize 10 hours later that it was the most life changing experience I've ever had.

3.) Who were you with and where were you?
I was in New Delhi. I was in the car when I took the blotter. Then I filled some gas, pickup up a friend and went to my other friends motel room. Only me and the guy sitting next to me had taken the blotter. The other guy who I picked up refused. We rolled up two Js of opium and hash. Then wen went back to the car, switched on some music, smoked the two joints (hot box baby!!), until the acid started setting in!

4.) Was it a positive or negative expierience?
It was wierd at first, I was always shaking and felt really paranoid. I had Dark Side (Pink floyd) playing in the car which I think was the main set and setting of my trip. I couldnt keep track of time. While in the car, I felt as if helicopters were flying around me and dropping bombs and stuff. I felt thirsty, so I went to the grocery to buy some soda, and it felt like everybody was watching me. Then me and my friend went for a walk. He was seeing rivers and butterflies and shit while I was seen a World Was II hit area. It was crazy. then we caught a cab so a bar to 'sober' us down. We felt like having a chocolate ice cream, but as soon as we bought one, we couldnt have it anymore. then we felt like having some of those chinese dumplings. We bought a plate, and immediately threw it, cuz we didnt feel like eating it anymore. Then at the bar, that was the time when I peaked. the bar is called 'Cafe Morrison' and is inspired by the Doors and Jim Morrison. Perfect Place. I started seeing wierd patterns and this poster of Jim Morrison started talking to me. That was the only good part of my trip. I drove back home and couldnt sleep all night and always thought there is this devil face on my ceiling looking at me and laughing, so I feared opening my eyes thinking he would kill me the minute I opened them.
I got up next morning and reflected on my trip, and will never ever forget that day. It changed my whole perspective of life. Made me more spiritual and pure.

    question:
i am a person who treasures my seclusion
even when i smoke sometimes, i get annoyed with the people around me if they do not want to do what i want and will sometimes just want to be alone listening to my own music

for this reason i feel like i would want to experience lsd by myself
however, i am somewhat scared to do it all alone and would feel much better and safer if i had a friend with me

    what do you think?

IMO it is very risky to take your first trip alone unless you really have your head together. The first trip, like any trip, can be full of surprises …. some of them unpleasant …. some of them psychotic. A guide is like the seat belt in your car …. 99.9% of the time it isn’t needed, but when it is needed it is really needed.

Do NOT go it alone if you are subject to panic attacks …. ever!
Do NOT mix it with alcohol the first time, if ever.
Do NOT do it if you are depressed unless with very experienced guide.

If you should decide to go it alone you need to set yourself some rules in advance:
    • Have your cell phone with you and an experienced friend expecting a possible emergency call.
    • Do not leave your room and bathroom …. have enough food/drink available that you don’t even need to go into the kitchen.
    • Do not decide that you can jump out of your window and fly across the street.
    • Be certain than you have at least a couple of your best “security blankets” available, as well as some mellow music.

    Good luck and be safe!

i was 16 (let me do some ciphering) It would have been in late June of 1977

What inspired me was my best friend at the time, lets call him Mike. He produced a small packet from his pocket and said, "Hey i got 2 hits of yellow microdot from my older brother." I was up for anything new in those days.

It being Mike's first experience also, we had no idea what to expect. Mike said his brother advised that we would need a good 8 hrs with nothing to do. No problem there. Mike's brother also advised that we shouldn't be around people who weren't tripping. That was pretty much the extent of our preparation. Not being the brightest bulbs in the package, we decided that a good place to trip away from people (we both took that advice to mean away from parents and people of authority) was a crowded public beach at a small lake about 15 mi. outside the city.

We decided that it would be a good idea to take the tiny yellow pills immediately, and jump into my old dodge and head to the beach. That way we would start tripping about the time we got to the beach. A flat tire and about 30 minutes later, (we had changing the bald tires on my old dodge down to a ritual that would have impressed an Indy pit crew) we were sitting on the hood of the old dodge in the parking lot at the beach. I asked Mike what did you give your brother for that yellow microdot, he said "3 dollars a piece". I said "let's go find him and get your money back." He agreed so we hopped back in the dodge and headed back to the city.

As we approached the city I said to Mike, "I'm feeling a little strange." Mike said "Me too". We decided to stop at my older sister's house, to wait and see what developed. Jane (as we'll call my older sister) said "What is wrong with you?" as Mike and I were literally laying in her front room floor holding our sides from laughing so hard. I said "sorry Jane, we smoked a little herb and we thought this might be a safe place to hang for a while." Jane having no experience with herb or LSD accepted my explanation and went back in the other room to whatever it was she was doing.

The trip manifested itself in both Mike and I finding extreme humor in any and everything that we saw. The effects were slow in manifesting because we hadn't known that we were supposed to let the tiny yellow pill dissolve under our tongues and we just swallowed them like you would an aspirin.

I don''t know how much time had passed, Mike and I just continued to laugh hysterically at anything the other said or did, or at things on the TV which was running in the background, when my sister appeared looking about one quarter concerned and about three quarters aggravated at our abnormal behavior. Jane said " Brax straighten up and go down to the garage there's a guy delivering a 55 gal drum of oil and he needs someone to show him where to put it.

Jane's husband ran dump trucks and loaders and other equipment, most of his equipment was old and used lots of oil to keep running, so he would buy his oil in bulk to cut expenses. The pickup truck with the oil drum in back was parked down the hill in front of the garage. The guy was standing next to the tailgate. I had composed myself as much as i could and was meandering in circles starring at the ground in front of me. i contemplated intensely, where is the best place to sit a 55 gal drum of oil.

I don't know how long i wandered there or even if my meandered was really circular. I kept my gaze affixed intently on the ground in front of me. The drive down by the garage had an amazing surreal look that i had never seen before. Once in a while the urgency of the situation would creep into my consciousness and i would point to the ground and say maybe we can set it here. Then at the end of my finger i would see a tuft of grass struggling against the gravel or a color that i never realized existed in the, part dirt, part gravel, part grass, area around the garage, and i would say "No we can't put it there". Then i would go back to my explorations examining the ground looking for some sign or maybe even some type of divine intervention that would lead me to the perfect spot to set a 55 gal drum of oil.

Suddenly there was a loud scrap and a thump. I looked up to see the guy had deposited the drum squarely in the center of the drive. I was about to say "well i guess that'll be OK" when the guy produced a small yellow form a few pages thick and pointed the blunt end of something he had in his other hand directly at me. "You have to sign for it" he said in a hurried agitated voice. "Sign For It!" shock tore through my body. It was all i could do to maintain enough composure to try to divine the perfect spot to set a 55 gal drum of oil, that was the task that had been appointed me, nobody had said anything about signing for it.

I stood staring blankly at the yellow form on top of the drum of oil. I focused intently on the form yet didn't even consider reading the first line. I was more into the pale yellow color against gray blue top of the oil drum. Then a thick finger with black around and under the nail suddenly entered my field of vision and landed firmly next to a solid line on the bottom right corner of the pale yellow form. I place the point of the pen he had aimed at me earlier on the beginning of the line. My hand was shaking badly. I pressed the ball of the palm of my hand down hard on the oil drum to try to control the shaking. It felt as if i had never signed my name before, or as if how to sign was some distant memory. I had some serious doubts cross my mind as to my ability to be able to accomplish what i knew was a simple ordinary task. I began to move the pen although shaky and somewhat apprehensive i was already finished with my first name. I moved the pen over a bit and began to spell out a shaky last name.

Relief swept over me as i watched the truck speed up the hill and out of the drive. I had gotten through it. I had accomplished my task, even though the 55 gal oil drum obviously wasn't in the perfect spot. The guy with all his demanding expectations was driving out of my world. I looked down at the pale yellow piece of paper he had torn off of the top of the form and deposited into my hand. I had managed to accomplish the surprisingly difficult task of signing it. I stashed it in my jeans pocket. I could go back to contemplating the ground around the garage or laughing with Mike.

Where was Mike, my compadre and fellow traveler in this strange new reality where looking for the perfect spot for a 55 gal drum of oil could open up new amazements, and signing your name was a traumatic gut wrenching experience? I had focused my perception and blocked out everything else around me to get through the ordeal with the guy. I raised my head and looked around seeing the world and colors with a new intensity. There was Mike at the corner of the garage. He was leaning against the wall both arms wrapped around his abdomen. His face was red and he had tears coming down his cheeks. Apparently he hadn't been forced to leave the laughing stage and had found my interactions with the guy to humorous to bear.

The experience helped make me who i am today. That was a long time ago yet still very vivid in my memory. I have experienced trips since but none with as intense a sense of finding humor in everything. I had never laughed so hard before or since. For me it was defiantly a positive experience.
