Do Your Parents Care You Smoke?

Just a note beforehand, seems like something that would have already been posted but I searched and found nothing.

So, do your parents care that you smoke?

And if they don't know you do, do you think they would care if you did?

My parents caught me and they were mad.(and apparenlty my mom was more 'upset' than angry). I wish my parents would just be like "I don't care if you do it, as long as you don't do it all the time and you keep your grades up". My mom's childhood friend did it for like 15 years and she doesn't even know how to work a computer and my mom is like "is that what you wanna end up like?" so I know she will never say that she doesn't care if I do it. but im in good classes and get good grades so its not like i'm gonna have a bad a life or something.

 

i'm working on my parents, i have had a few stern talks from them, the first 2 times i smoked i got caught, i think they know, but will not do anything. they certaintly do not like it, they say they would be fine with it, but the problem is it's illegal. They DO let my 16 year old sister drink, and an Illegal drinking ticket is the same as possesion of 5g or less of weed in my state. (plus probably community service)

 

I can't spark a blunt in the living room or anything but as long as I'm not obnoxious about it, it's not a big deal.

 

my parents have always had an open attitude towards my life, they realise its my life and i can only be guided not controlled. So they're happy with me so long as i tell them if i try something, alot of parents around here are like that though, its a pretty small community, the majority of which smokes

 

Ditto, have they ever let me smoke? No, but did they ever say or do anything about it? Also no

 

My dad will smash my bong, and not say shit about it to me

My mom sometimes can get all crazy protective mother on me telling me it is harming me, but other times she just says it smells "funny" gives me a weird smile and leaves lol.

I just smoke and don't think about not being allowed to.

 

i havent got caught smoking weed but i got caught smoking cigs or atleast smelling like em and deny that i was smokin but he dont believe me haha but he not angry but hes not happy but if he found out i smoked weed he would flip cuz he doesnt believe the studies and all that he thinks that u go out and do harder drugs and stuff but my mom would be chill and be upset and tell me not to do it again

 

My mum used to be crazy with the guilt trips and such... I think over time she got used to it...

TBH i dont give that big of a fuck as i did when i was say 14.
I would never get grounded or get privileges taken away, just emotional lectures and forced guilt.

My Father... Well he asked me, i told him i smoked afew times. I know 100% hes smoked before, but he would say only a few puffs to relax, not get high. I would smoke to get high... so i kinda didnt want to stir up a deal.
I couldnt see myself smoking with him, even if it may be possible. Its just no. We have a very different relationship to most sons and fathers. I see him as a mentor sort of, not as a dad, not since long ago.

So anyway, yeah, being 17 is kinda sweet, you stop giving a fuck about what people think so much because you dont rely on them so much. Its no bigggie.

I used to remember how much i would rant on here, how pathetic my mum would be and sooo... and ppl would just say Green dude, just chilLL!!! and id be like nooo fuck you, you have no idea what its like ...

mh... i just had a great idea, if i tell them i will only have less than 5g of weed at a time, and i will pay the fine, and they have nothing to worry about. unless.. for some strange reason my parents would get blamed for my actions... (just smoking, not growing or anything)

 

my parents both used to smoke weed, and my dad still does on occasion, so it's not really a big deal to them if i smoke. not that it matters anyway, cause i'm 20 now and they can't tell me what to do.

when i was younger though, they used to get mad and tell me not to smoke it and spend my money on it, but now they just usually leave me alone about it.

 

can't really say for sure. i've been caught twice, i got lectured by my mom, and nothing really happened. didn't get grounded. i burn incense in my room now, and she doesn't say anything about that, but i'm pretty sure she knows what it's for. maybe she just adopted a dont ask dont tell policy, which i would like. i take really hard classes and make good grades so i don't know what they could say. as for my dad, not sure. he used to smoke a shit ton of weed in college but im not sure about this attitude about it nowadays.

 

I actually think my mom would be a lot angrier with me if she caught me smoking cigs.

 

i think there may have been times my mom dipped into my stash.

she once found about 40 hash brownies in my car and "confiscated" them. i found out she threw away a few, but kept a few too!
