Okay so we have a major development. He's now saying that He needs my HELP and that he's going to stop selling the shampoo and wants me to come up with a shampoo and that he'll pay me. I don't even know what to say
^ Maybe! He did say that smoking a lot of weed blurs his mind set. I'm still really skeptical but in his message he couldn't thank me enough for bringing the unnatural ingredients to his attention.. I hope he stays true to his word
Hmm....have you ever tried making a dread shampoo hellodreadhead? Maybe you should! I read somewheres that bcmamma was testing some herbal mixtures out. Maybe the two of you can work together and help this guy out....if he's sincere. Youll be doing the dready community a service and make some dinero!
I would hesitate to go into a business venture with this guy; he sounds kinda wacky. I'll just keep experimenting and hopefully someday soon, I will have my own website with lots of natural, herbal dreadlock products.
is he relying on his business to support himself, or is it for some spending cash on the side? the truth of it all is that we don't need a shampoo specifically made for locks. i'm sure it would be great, but it sounds like a luxury since there are already commercial products that suit our needs and we have the ability to make our own with common ingredients. he says he's real, well if he is he should be willing to ditch the cash and the crap until he can develop something that is true. until then he should be supporting the ways that work. all i've seen of this guy was a couple of vids a while ago. he wore like a superman shirt or something. i really don't know what methods he supports or teaches, all i know is that he sells wax and some nasty shampoo. threatening to sue then asking to be a business partner? conflicted isn't the word. if he is sincere, i really don't want to see his ship sink, but i have no idea what to think.,
I question his ethics....how could he promote & sell a shampoo when he doesn't even know about the ingredients in it? I research shampoo ingredients before I use it, let alone sell it to other people. I wonder how he can be so ignorant about his own products? Seems pretty weird to me....
Apparently he's now researching how to make his own soap bars using only natural ingredients. He said himself that his dreadlock shampoo wasn't even made by him, he just employed some company who told him the shampoo they were making for him was 100% natural. The way he's writing he sounds pretty upset. I do want to help him so I'm throwing some ideas at him. I've never made a liquid soap mandyland but I have dabbled in making my own bar soaps about 8 years ago with my aunt. I have no idea if he's relying solely on the business for money. I doubt he is though. He only set up his business in summer 07 and he's working alone. I'd much rather bcmama do her own thing with her soaps. It seems like she's got her own business plan I'd love to try out her soaps though! . I do feel like he is conflicting his ideas. I've told him myself that I don't want any sort of payment I just want credit for helping turn his business around because I'm not willing to make cash off people when I've been misled myself by people claiming they know everything about dreads. Your right there Glacius about threatening to sue then wanting me as a soap supplier... I told him it would be so much easier to make the soaps himself. I'm honestly quite taken a back that I've managed to convince a company, be it a small one, to completely change their ways on dreadlock products. Which is why I'm still a bit...Unsure of his intentions. I would question his ethics too bcmama but I'm a sap for seeing the good in people and I can't help myself but want to help people even if he was very derogatory towards me.
Yeah id be really careful. Personally, Im not a greedy asshole, but I need a job and if I were you Id make some cash selling some good, quality soap for dreads. But be careful, he might be trying to scam you and steal your idea, or anything really.. Get something official in writing before you share your ingredients, or whatever.
So, he just took some company's word that the shampoo was all natural? He's either lazy, naive or stupid (maybe all 3) to just take their word for it without researching on his own. I have been a merchant at festivals & fairs and anytime I add a product that I do not make myself, I research it. I ask the company for information, check out their sources and then find sources of my own for more clarification. To sell products that you have no knowledge on can put your customers at risk and makes you look like a fool. It's just bad for business. To create an all natural liquid shampoo is almost impossible. Liquid shampoo is mostly water and needs some kind of preservative. Some companies use a coconut derived preservative, but I'm still unsure if it is synthetic or truly natural, as the process that is involved kinda confuses me. I'll keep researching until I figure it out. Hellodreadhead; as soon as I have my recipe perfected, I'll send ya a bar for you to try out. Thanks for the vote of confidence.
Yep that's the idea I get.Like you said bcmama, if it was me that had the company I would thoroughly research my ingredients too. I find it also odd that, even though I was completely honest with him, he's just plain and simply taken my advice as law. I really don't want any profit I mean I'm not really interested anymore in making my own soaps. If he does just plain and simply use me for his own gain. More fool him. I could easily take him down. I'm at a company that protects consumerism and offers legal advice! I still don't know what to make of it. Aww bcmama thanks for the soap sample I'm sure it'll be a gorgeous soap!!
He's ignorant on dreads care becuase he doesn't have dreads himself. Hey, I'm ignorant on tattoo care becuase I don't have any myself. See where I'm going with this :] I just feel kind of sorry for this guy, it's stressful to be an entrepreneur and since he's sorry I forgive him. Maybe he is a greedy bastard or maybe he is trying his best. But you don't have to forget in order to forgive ;] I've save everything.
well if you're not asking for any money i dont see how he could rip you off other than saying that he did everything. it seems like that would complicate things more for him rather than do anything beneficial.
Well, he says that he cut his dreads off this year. The way that I am I do not trust people on dreadlock advice who don't have dreads themselves and that in itself would be a catastrophe for his company. I see where you're going moondoggie, I don't think that this company has the knowledge to take off. I have saved everything. All I want is to be credited in his site, for the help I gave out of sheer kindness, if he does use my ideas. I will be monitoring his site to make sure any changes made are credited to me. I hope he does so not to complicate and damage his reputation. I'd hate for his business to fail before he barely started it.
