isn't a chaser a yummy tasting drink that you drink immediately after you take a shot to dull the "this tastes like crap" taste?

I try to prevent the hangover. Hangovers are basically dehydration headaches, so if you drink a lot if water right before bed, you can stave one off

Excellent point ahimsa, the trick is staying sober enough to remember.

That helps, yeah, because you're right, part of it is dehydration. But the rest of it is the effect of metabolizing the alcohol, which makes one feel shitty. The only thing to do with that is wait it out, and maybe mask the effects some with asprin or something.

I usually prevent hangovers with water or gatorade before going to sleep. But, sometimes I get much too sloshed to do this (vodka always results in this), so I just smoke a bowl when I wake up in pain with no memory of the previous night.

i try to drink a good amount of water beforehand if i know i am going to get thrashed...i usually dont' get hangovers anyway, guess i'm lucky

but when i went up to montreal last week, i drank so much, that my body couldn't metabolise the alcohol fast enough and when i woke up, my urine was pretty much dark brown. i didn't drink any water beforehand and pretty much drank for 6 hours...fun night though.

but sleep, water, OJ, apple juice works for me

Try chasers. For those of you who haven't heard of them they are pills that are supposed to relieve a hangover. It pretty much gets rid of the headache and the feeling like you want to die when you wake up in the morning.

Of course if you can't find those.... just take a nice big sip of anything alcoholic as soon as you wake up. It'll take the edge off.;)

A Bloody Mary and any Tex-Mex dish with green chili right before getting back into bed.
