You know what always pisses me off about the show Dexter? Every time he kills someone he covers the room with plastic sheeting first. He must spend like thousands of dollars on plastic! And where does he get rid of it all? It looks to me like 6 or 7 trashbags' worth of blood-splattered plastic every time.

No, I meant this year. It's close enough to '09 that I've already started thinking about '08 as done.

o this year. im reading heavens mirror at the minute which is pretty interesting. i also read walking and walden by theroau, they were also good. and into the wild. and catch 22 for the 3rd time.......and lots of other great books

Ah, Hancock. I just looked into his latest, "Underworld," yesterday. The idea of underwater archaeology fascinates me, but Underworld sounds like...well, like a bunch of hooey. But reviews of Heaven's Gate say it's at least a tiny bit more substantiated. (Not that I'd ever believe in any kind of heavenly unifying factor - I'm an atheist.) How do you like it so far?

I've read and totally dug all those other books.

I'm currently reading David Quammen's "Song of the Dodo: Island Biogeography in an Age of Extinction," which is about why animals go extinct and how one might save some of them. It's terrific - one of the best books I've read all year.

My wife's hemophobic - when I slice myself open, which I do fairly regularly (by accident!) she nearly faints every time - but for some reason it doesn't apply to most TV shows.
