I think we should follow forest rules .after 72 people break off and start another camp.Then come together the closer it gets to the Gathering. 2008 oclaa was great hope to see every one there . havent left WYO YET.

 

Without getting into gory details about the risks of contracting a nasty virus like Hepatitis A, it is crucial to mention that meticulous personal hygiene is essential in any kitchen. 1. Clean hands. Wash hands before, during, and after handling food, using soap, a nailbrush, and hot water. Wash hands after taking a shit, smoking, coughing, sneezing, or scratching and don't cook with lotion on your hands. 2. Avoid jewelry. Use common sense and discretion when cooking while wearing any jewely, or better still, remove your jewelry altogether. 3. Secure hair. If you don't want hair in the food, either tie your hair back or wear a hat. 4. Cover wounds. Cover any cuts or open wounds with proper dressing. Wear disposable plastic gloves over the dressing to prevent any infection from spreading. 5. Avoid eating while cooking. Chewing food, gum, or toothpicks while cooking can lead to un wanted surprises in the food. 6. Use a spoon and not your finger to taste the sauce for seasoning. No double-dipping. 7. Disinfect surfaces. Wash counters and work surfaces with hot, soapy water and an diluted bleach. 8.Clean as you go. Get into the habit of washing pots, pans, and dishes as you go to keep things running smoothly and pervent a huge pile of pots and pans at the end of the day that nobody wants to clean.

I have Closed my "Rainbow Safe-House" due to "Drainbow Flu" that seems to have stopped
infecting just the young and has spread to the rest of the Rainbow Folk including our Elder's.
It was sad seeing an Elder Brother throw an Aluminum can out my window & after I've saved them
to recycle since the 70's. I am watching this Brother cram unhealthy poisons into his face
making him forget respect when dealing with others.

I've watched the "Drainbow Flu" start around '97 when Water Buffalo's were brought to our Gathering's
ONLY attracting Free-Loading BumBow's, Drainbow's, Strainbow's & your typical Moocher. It's why we
Scout for Water. Safety, etc.... for those who have forgotten.

I cant wait for this planet to shake the fleas off for then may the True Rainbow Warrior appear &
gather like we used to with only our Baggage & Kind Spirits!!!!

So, Bill, where do you propose scouts look for new sites in the Ocala NF? I don't believe any of the half dozen or so that have been in the regular rotation have drinkable water on site.

 

Then I wonder why they are used....Huh., Okay....Right On. Guess it goes what is defined as Drinkable. Ocala '08 They ignored the lake!!

Water can be harvested with any tarp/cloth/Walmart bag and a cup/bucket (Not from rain). Besides its florida. Just a few shovel full's down.....

Survival....It's time.

That wouuld be "Drinkable without risk by the weakest members of our family", children, pregnant women, the elderly.

I know as kid who caught a case of giardiasis from swallowing a small amount of lake water while swimming at, I believe, Shanty Pond.

You propose supplying potable water for 1000 people over a weekend, that's about 3000 gallons, half that much during the week, this way?

The only workable alternative I have heard proposed to packing water by the truckload is the solar water pump/water tower/gravity fed filter system some of the Iris folks were talking about a few years ago, and that takes money, technical know how, money, somebody reliable to care for the equipment in the off season, and money.

I don't have a dog in this fight. Unlikely I will make it to the Florida Winter gathering any time soon. But I fail to see how water trucks are the root of the problem either at the gathering, or at your house.

 

I supply water for my camp/tribe and enough for a Spunion or two.

Water Buffalo's only 1 factor I see last 6-7 Ocala's being 2% KIND 98% OTHER rather than the first 15 years of No Water Buffalo's being 98% KIND and 2% OTHER.

Folks should study nomadic living (Water especially) & so forth as its really basic survival. 15 years ago we were gathering on crystal clear water supply's in Ocala. I still am now as a fact.

Just hoping folks will learn BEFORE they start that family....

Hey there family, just a word, the gathering s are what you make of it, I'd love to goto the Ocala this year, andmiss you all. However there has been problems with the Forest Service. And what is going on with the permit.

If Ocala water is sooooo bad, Why is it Bottled & sold under many different names? Go look at Wally world, K-Mart, etc. "Bottled from Silver Springs, FL". Yes, you may even get some recycled Tarzan or Ma Barker Urine. YUMMY. heheheehehe Please dont tell the spunions about Hidden Pond! I still drink from it!!!

there is no simple solution to alcoholics in the family. i don't think throwing money at a problem is ever the solution. our family is sick. we are amazing creatures in that we poison ourselves with the idea that we are seperate from one another. a house divided can not stand.it's hard to be loving when you feel hated. if you think ocala needs more "good" folks then go. be the solution. be easy.

 

What about the Forest Service this year??? I would get the logistics before heading down there, I've read stories and than not. I haven't been to a gathering in some time, and would like to go, but don't know if I can. If anyone has heard from Charles Swiden who was at the gathering last year, no one knows where he is, either in Baltimore, or anywhere else. He has been missing, or whatever. No one knows, it's not safe around here in the city, and getting worse, I stay in after dark. I have enogh on my hands, with everythng else going on. LOving you all! Trading Bill you do a fabulous job and we love you. Thank you for hosting all the hippies you have and being an elder. I'll have to trade you for some coffee at trade circle this year.

Water is an issue in Ocala. What bringing in a water buffalo does is economize fuel usage and the drain on the community and resourses with people going back and forth to babylon for water just for their camp. We cook for each other, council each other and we have water crews that help make sure we drink healthy water and the kitchens have a supply. It is necessary. The water situation is part of what makes Ocala unique.

Now is the time to walk our walk AND talk our talk. We not only have the chore of counseling other rainbows (about recycling, poisoning their bodies and digging shitters) but couseling babylon too. The big change is coming, we all know it, and society will look to those of us that have lived off the land with respect for the earth and each other as role model. It is time to come together and be wise. Divided we fall and the hope for a better future falls with us. Don't give up too soon. Now is the time to roll up our sleeves and dig in.

 

Water in Florida is NOT an issue yet. A few years....for sure 'cause the WORLD will be polluted. Florida has water Surrounding it and inches under the surface. CLEAN stuff too.
I wish you guys would have seen ANY pre-2000 Gathering where we didnt have Water at every trailhead.


It brought the SINCERE, KIND, LOVING, BEAUTIFUL Brothers and Sister's I met in the 70's that Walked the walk by not living in a Lot at a gathering.

It brought those seeking Prayer & True Peace.

It brought the resourceful person or teacher.


I've watched Indian Pow-Wow's/Rendezvous, Biker shows and the Seminole Indian Reservation Destroyed Millinium night because of Water Supply/Buffalo's. They attracted the Free-loaders, Bums, etc. Seems if you provide/lead a spunion to/with water, It just dont make them THINK.

"WE"re BLESSED with Florida/Ocala!!!! But as ALL Visions have told.....


Water will be the Death of Florida.
