Hi, Ive grown my first plant in hopes of getting a decent harvest before the new year and its turned out male, I have other seeds, but its too late to start them now and get some bud before new years eve. My question is, if I grow out the male, then chop it up and simmer the plant in butter for a few hours, then make cookies with the butter will it be any good? Ive done it before with the stems and leaves of a female with pretty good results, any insight would be really appreciated, cheers.
it will be very little thc, but some.. there is much mixed reviews on male Thc levels.. It wouldnt be a waste to cook it and eat it... Thc is produced in the Female bud..
You can still make oil from male mj and if you smoke a far amount of leafs both male or female ya get kinda stoned off it in the end. As a taste thing male flowers not to bad to smoke. Orison you say thc is product by female bud but think to some degree all parts of an mj plant produce thc.
i recommend that next time you buy seeds, buy the feminized ones a bit more expensive but i would say defintley worth it.

Dont know if its the same 4 males plants but when i bring a female back to veg i often get thc seeping out the big fan leafs so maybe that could be a way to get wat little thc a male plant contains out?
id assume there may be MINIMAL levels of THC in males, but its probably almost a wild goose chase to obtain. ^and to fox star: even if males had some THC, the females build most of thier mass into the buds (concentrated areas of high thc). the males focus on pollen, which has no thc. thats why noone would grow males, even if they could make hash. but on topic, i say to try it. Ive made weed butter before, and besides getting you high, its got a very unique taste and aroma.

Already been said females produce bud which is a localized hot spot 4 thc. As for the leafs males and female leafs probably contain the same amount of thc in there leafs coz I've never notice any difference between male and female leafs when smoked.
I wiped out some males this morning, prolly oz of leaf/stem.. Made them into a salad and Im stoned, much different high than from smoking.. I smoked earlier but the thick skunk smelling leafs and soft stems were great with french dressing and tomatos.. Flavor lasting taste too.. Aww i only ever smoke leafs when my tobacco is gettin bit short. Really must try making something from it some time. Being a quick growing plant bet there quick tender and sweet to eat.
HEE. I just smoked some leaf off them males, the very tops I set on a hot brick to dry.. Im high and its noticeable !! Not bad at all, mellow.. them girls are going to be grand.
There's THC in males, of course there is, fact. Pointless discussing it as being a possibility or saying no when you don't actually know. The answer is there is and that's the end of it. Check before professing something as fact because those who've said male Cannabis doesn't have THC are talking rubbish. Sativa males are the most potent and leaves can be dried and smoked/eaten when plants are fairly young, 4-5 weeks and you get a nice high, even if grown under CFL's. Smoke the female leaves of a 5 week old vegging Sativa and you'd get a little high, males can really get you into orbit at 5 weeks. Indica males are less potent and the flowers have to finish before any real potency can be found but all mature Indica males will give you a half decent buzz/stone. [As is much the same with female Indica, sample a young bud and it'll be crap, sample a young Sativa bud and you will get high, Indica males have to mature before real potency just like the girls, so smoke a male Indica/hybrid leaf at 4-5 weeks and you won't get much if anything, 7 weeks and it'll be a buzz, things happen faster in developing Cannabis males than females.] Most hybrid males will have an effect, better the more Sativa. Plenty of people make Hash from males added to thir scuff as well, because they know to a greater or lesser degree it will add to the Hash so for peeps just wanting decent smoking material and making the most of what they grow, males add bulk to their hash so worth doing. I've read of people farming and having a lot of males from regular seeds and made bubblehash from all males which was very potent, forget where now. I don't know where people get it from, the "no THC in males" thing! I smoke male leaf myself and glad of it sometimes if i'm low on bud and wanna stretch my gear out a bit prior to a next harvest. ooo oo you're share right? and of course if u eat the males it'll be noticable, i didn't bother with much of though i just took all males and stems NO seeds, and some kieff and simmered it down made ganja butter made a big pot of garlic butter noodles for my roomates and didn't tell them it was ganja garlic noodles everyone was so stoned they had no idea what i did to them, damn i love that shit!
