murukami, mm-mm good!

    i can't believe there's no thread on him yet! my favorite author by far. has anyone else read any of his works?

    Haruki Murakami is amazing! I love Kafta on the shore and The elephant vanishes. He is one of my favourite authors!

    Yep, he's fantastic. But the thing about his books is that they are vague enough to sometimes have very blurred meanings. His writing is very evocative but sometimes I finish his book and not really understand what the point of the story was.

    but..... i think that almost is the point, in a way. sure, a great deal of his works are lost in translation, but i think the blurriness of them translates very well. you take what you need to take from them, you know? that's part of why i think he's so brilliant.
