It is not us and them as so many of you seem to think. Everyones reality does not have match yours. The central theme of the hip movement was love and acceptance. It may seem tired and trite but it is still true. I dont give a fuck what the government does,. I live in a big world but my part of it is very small so I apply a certain set of principals to live by and therefore hopefully influence the people around me. Have you fed the squirrels in your yard? Is your door open to kids that need a place to be themselves? Do you give that stinky mentally ill street person the time of day and a buck? Do you plant flowers so that the bees that we need to produce food have what they need? Do you tell your weed person to let it get ripe and fruitful and to flush the fertilizer out of it? There are so many places a person can start. I dont condemn the unenlightened I seek to enlighten them . Every person who walks by my flower garden in the summer knows something special is going on there. When the live band started to play on my front porch on the 4th of july old and young rich and poor stoned or drunk were in the same karmic universe and walked away with something of value implanted in their mind whether they know it or not..I'm sitting Bangkok right now taking care of street dogs. What are you doing? getting stoned is the means to the end..Thusly I sit on my porch with my cats and dog in the summer turn up the oldies and light up. Anyone is welcome . Please spread the love. Hippie is a state of mind.
Hello And Welcome to the forums . good to have you here ,great intro .PEACE. p.s ,Looking forward to reading your post
I'm still struggling with this whole computer thing. I once saw a list that included all the things that had not been invented in 1945 when I was born. It isa list that includes everything that youngsters take for granted. I was sitting in the park Here in Bangkok soaking up enough sun to make all the homies back in Seatown jealous of my tan. I was thinking threads threads threads. For anyone curious about where all my ranting and ravings originate I would encourage you to google Gloria Martin. Mom was an old time radical hippie. She once stood between a police line and the house occupied by the black panthers to keep the police from attacking. She was in the forefront of the opposition to the Viet war and struggled for peace and justice for all peoples. Unlike many doctrinaire radicals she had a joy of life that made her politics just a part of what she was. Any stray kid cat or dog always found her door open. Her gardens were legendary. So this is where my thread begins . It made it easy to move in new directions when you had a 50 year mother who took acid once just to see what all the fuss was about. So the question young hippies is what is your thread. What is the source and what influences you now. The good the bad and the ugly bring me to this point.
