I eat at the soup kitchen more so than I would like lately. So anyway it's Christmas coming up, & all these christian cults. I bought a gift for a cousin of mine for Christmas before going there. While I was eating I had to hear these preachers talk to people about accepting Jesus Christ. The guy at my table even gave this guy a whole 10 dollars. 363 days out of the year they're never to be found there but the only time they come, they expect everyone to have smiley faces & give them a warm welcome while they ride on their high horses.

So I left my gift there & didn't realize it until 15 minutes later. I remember I left it on the chair next to me. when I came back it was no where to be found, they were eating lunch after the people left. His whole family was at the same table, I went up & asked everyone at the table if they've seen a gift box. They all said no, that's when i looked down & between his wife's feet was my gift next to her purse.

She was going to take it. Stealing from poor people & they're suppose to be with god?

Well, as someone who eats at a soup kitchen, you're pretty much at the very bottom of society. You kind of have to take a whole lot of shit together with it. C'est la vie.

Tell me about it, sometimes I spend all my days out of the house doing business & not small talk to a single soul. People are disgusting, a lot if not all try to gather an image of them selves, of what they want to be & project it outward the best they can to society. But in the end they have imperfection, because they're like every other person, only human.

    Yes, most people completely suck.

    So is the real world.

At least society is nice enough to feed you though.

That's because the soup kitchen gets a big government grant. People that are relatives of the workers with nice cars come in too, but it's always around back, & leaving with big grocery bags.

I hope you checked answer number two, it fits into that comment

Good thing that the government supports you. In other countries, the unemployed are merely left to starve on the streets.

But now, it has nothing to do with number two. I actually checked number three, because I think that anyone can get a job. Hell, I'd be breaking my back just to get a fast food job or some other shit if I was at your position, in order to at least have something.

But is it right for them to steal? Nope, yet as I've said... you're in a such a social situation that you can't do much about it. Get yourself out of it.

While actually, you don't know my situation, I just put that up there because that's what people jump to conclusions when on this sort of subject line. Due to someone else negligence from my other job.

I think they were wrong, of course, but now what can you do?

God will punish their sins. :p

I'm not talking about my situation anymore. I posted this for the reason to show that someone whom sells them selves as so righteous can do something so low, & why?

Well, does it even surprise you?

People are hypocritical as it is...

    Christians take the cake though.

I've probably witnessed a thousand such incidents as you describe (not the same incident, but on the same level).

    It's kind of old news.

I clicked get a job too, because I agree with Rubin that is the best way to get yourself out of those situations.

If you want my opinion, you need to shift to a more internal locus of control and take charge of your own life. Which includes bitch slapping the person who took your gift, and taking it back, instead of just looking at it..

    External Locus of Control

Individual believes that his/her behaviour is guided by fate, luck, or other external circumstances.

    Internal Locus of Control

Individual believes that his/her behaviour is guided by his/her personal decisions and efforts.

I did take the gift back, by the way I am employed, the other job I was talking about was working at the plant too do with the lay offs. I took it back but said nothing because I did not want to cause a seen, those types of places if you even seem angry in your tone they'll call the police.

It's hard times & a lot of new faces have been showing up at the soup kitchen not the run of the mill bum you see on the street but whole families that arn't on drugs & do have an education other than a GED. America is going to the shittier fast, & these are the organizations that are suppose to take care of the working poor. More like thugs with a licenses looking for handouts.

    Some people are just shitty.

If the soup kitchen if government funded, why are they allowed to shove Jesus down people's throats before feeding them?

And to echo Marie...what was the gift? I am curious...
