well, the semester is OVER! i got a tiny bit of cleaning and laundry stuff left to take care of, but after that, i'm drinkin tonight got me a pint of seagram's seven, a bomber of a kickass belgian ipa with a name so long i wont bother, and a 11.2oz bottle of chimay cinq cents doing it right tonight, no steel reserve for me:cheers2:
you should know i'm going to ask what the belgian ipa is i haven't had seagrams seven in a while congrats on the semester being over man *edit* damnit - you posted again before i did
yeah, its the one i suggested in the other thread i was looking for the urthel hop-it but couldnt find any, they only had one urthel beer. they had other chouffe beers, too, so i was torn because this is the only one i've had, but its one of my favorite beers, so i went for it. but i really wanna try mc chouffe, which is a belgian scotch ale, iirc
indeed! what do you think of the beer itself? i love the combination of the double ipa with a typically belgian yeast - i'm saving it for later though, right now i'm sipping on the chimay. its been so long since i've had it! so wonderful
i hate the feeling of being torn between different beers haha don't know which beer i'm going with tonight yet
i did get to have a bottle of Sierra Nevada 12th Release Wet Hop Ale last night, which went awesome with my eggplant i had
oh nice, their harvest ale? they release it twice per year, once in autumn (northern hemisphere harvest) and once in spring (southern hemisphere harvest) {that is, autumn/spring in the northern hemisphere} i've had both. they're both very good, very fresh and delightful, but i think fresh hops are slightly hyped up and the lengths needed to get them to the brewery while still wet make it cost more than its really worth but its still a high quality beer, i enjoy it a lot:cheers2:
is that chimay stuff beer or what? you're always drinking the most obscure beers nesta. i'm havin a shock top right now. and when they're gone (i only had three) i'll switch to j.w.dundee's ipa (made right here in rochester). i wish i had some fuckin weed though!
LOL:cheers2: yeah, chimay is a beer. there are three typical chimay brews, chimay premiere, chimay cinq cents, and chimay grande reserve. any store that specializes in good beer will carry at least one of these three beers. and honestly these days i'm drinking malt liquor more often than not, steel reserve is most common (oe is hard to find here, and schlitz red bull even moreso) but yeah, tonight i'm drinking good beer, and compared to what you get at the grocery it's probably "obscure" either way i'm fucking enjoying it and drinking some fucking magnificient beers, and some shots of whiskey in between
Chimay ain't too obscure. Almost every big liquor store has it. It's pretty damn decent beer though. There are no liquor stores around here where I currently live. I have to settle with gas station beer, at least they have a Sam Adams sampler 6-pack. Just had a Black Lager and will not have a Honey Porter. Neither of them are anything too impressive. I'm probably just going to drink Guinness for the rest of the month for a lack of variety.
really? the sam adams black lager, imo, is a very nice american example of a shwarzbier. how much that means to you, of course, depends on what is available in your area and what you like....still, i like it, and while i also like the boston lager, the black lager is probably my favorite same adams beer.
yeah, remember you bitching about not being able to find old english or that schlitz red bull. steel reserve is something else. i drank two or three (i think only two) 24 ounce cans of that once, and blacked out. i was suddenly driving my car to a town 20 minutes away in a snow storm. i've stayed awya from it since then. i have a list sitting next to my computer of beers you've recommended nesta. next time i go to beers of the world i have to look for them. la fin du monde dogfish head gulden draak paulaner salvatore saison dupont and foret last time i went there (beers of the world, they have hundreds and hundreds of beers) i got a belgian wheat ale by paulaner...pretty good. and the last interesting beer i had was monty python's holy grail ale - tempered over burning witches. it was really good.
My semester is ending on Friday, but I'm drinking tonight nevertheles, whoo-pee... :cheers2: I believe I'll be drinking some good blackberry wine.....
