Yay! I got a PRESCRIPTION for Oxycotin (and Compound) PLEASE READ IN!!!

Advice needed on what to do:

Here is the deal.

For me, I take 3-4 15mg Hydrocodone Compounds (60mg) every 4-6 hours and it worked for me. My pain specialist didn't like me taking Norco, I took both Compound and Norco.

For the past month, I have seen him 4 times.

This is what he prescribed for me in order:

1st Visit: MS Extended Release, take 2-3 every 12 hours. Nuerotin
It didn't work for me, especially in pain, no feeling of euphoria.

2nd visit: MS Instant Release, Kadian 100/30mg (both), I got only a weeks supply, too expensive, didn't work that good, it was alright. No euphoria, still had pain.

3rd Visit: Dilaudid, Methadol, these worked the best in taking away desire for Hyrdrocodone, but it still made me feel sleepy. It worked okay and I got only 50% of my script filled as I was tired of spending $$$ on things that didn't work, so 50% = 135 methadol (Systhetic Heroin?), 90 tabs of Dialudid.

4th Visit, he finally gave me 120 40 mg of Oxycotin (2 weeks worth) and 270 15 mg compound in case the Oxy didn't work. Wondering what to expect from a PAIN level as well as euphoria compared to the Hyrdo which always seemed to give me energy as well as take the pain away.

All the other prescriptions made me tired, maybe the dilaudid gave me a slight boost, but more tired than not. Will hold on to the Methadol/Dilaudid in case I need it for something else.

Just wondering what to expect, whether insurance will pay for Oxy or if I should see about getting a good price (cash) and see.

Also, what to expect with euphoria compared to Hydro? I ask as all the others made me tired where as the Hyrdo made me more energetic and took the pain away. Not a drinker so not looking to get high, just wonder if it (OXY) will work. Am thinking it will as why did the HYDRO work so much better than the others? Must have been the way it is metabolized and hopefully the OXY is semi systhetic like the Hdro was. Also, if I am taking 40-60mg of Hydro, what dosage should I take for Oxy? He gave me #120 to start with and can get the 270 15mg HYDRO on Monday, am very happy that he gave me 270 and views that as a month supply and not one tab every 6 hours.

Am so happy that I should be pain free over the holidays. All the tests and MRI/Die injections will happen in January. Hope to get healed. Also happy that am not taking the Methadol as I read this can be really bad to get off of. Only took for two days and took some compounds today - no desire to take the Morphone, Methadol, Instant Release.

Only thing I am missing now is the valium for all the spasms. Anyone know a good Los Angeles doctor! LOL

and yeah oc is better than hydro u will notice a difference good luck

 

man that list is just making my mouth run, and by the way methadol is made from methadone

 

1 OC-40 should feel simliar to the 60mg of hydrocodone, possibly better.

And yeah what everyone as said so far, 270 norcos and 120 OC40s!!! omg I would hit myself. Im happy because I just got 10 OC80s....

 

shit...that's alot of pills. Out of curiousity, what's your general condition? in other words, why are you getting all of these? i get perc 5's because of a bad back from an injury and therefore im forced to self-medicate...or something like that.. These baby 5's are from a family practice doc, does going to see a "pain specialist" make all the difference? Do they actually *listen* to what you say?

 

Lets see, you go to a regular doctor and they treat you like a drug addict.

My first sit down I said to him, YOU CANNOT HELP ME as I read in the lobby anyone with addition problems will be sent to the correct people and told him I had to take 4 norco's, he then sat with me for ONE hour.

He went on to say that tolerance is not always a sign of addiction and that tolerance can build due to metabolic conditions.

My problem is many which I will get into later - back to overall metabolic stuff and keep in mind, the METHADONE, morphine did not work that well. The diladid worked better but when he saw that for me the HDYDO worked better he finally agreed to give me the OXY.

Problem is, I can't afford the OXY so I think I am going to have them CALL IN THE HYDRO (270) and get just a few OXY until I pick up the COMPOUND. How many would I need of the OXY to take the edge off until I get the COMPOUNDS?

I hope I don't get the OXY and be like DAG NAB IT, I should have filled ALL of them. LOL. But seriously, the COMPOUND WORKS GREAT for me so it should be OKAY, then if I really need them, I will see HIM when he comes back from vacation.

Until then, would I really just need one 40mg OXY to feel like I took 60MG of the HYDRO and since I am low on the HYDRO (compound) and the other meds didn't work as good, will the OXY take off the EDGE the way the compounds do? I ask as I have a 120 script for the 40mg oxy but will get enough just to get me to the compound refill.

AND YES, it has been my experience that when you see a PAIN SPECIALIST you are dealing with a doctor who specializes not only in PAIN but has a broad understanding of PAIN MEDICATIONS.

Let me reiterate -

If the diladid, methadone, morhone, morphine DID NOT take off the edge but the COMPOUNDS DO, should I expect that the OXY will also take off the edge (buzz may be another word but for me it really is DIMINISH of pain)...

Just skeptical as nothing seemed to work and first time trying OXY. Tried my brothers OXY once, 5mg, it felt like taking an asprin and don't want to get to many OXY if they don't work as well as COMPOUND, especially since I have tried everything else, or so it seems.
