ive seen all of the threads on this forum saying that we should protest certain religions (the most recent one was islam). do you all really think that doing that is a good idea? sure religion can cause war and racism, and im not condoning using religion as an excuse for either of those things, but religion can be good for some people. Ghandi was a devout Hindu, and jfk was catholic. also, the teachings of jesus among other religious prophets are great and i believe the world would be a better place if we all followed them. i personally do not really believe in a god, and i certainly dont follow any organized religion, but, along with everything else i have said, think that thought control is a very dangerous thing, and if your telling people that they cant have a religion is definatly a form of thought control. discuss
In many ways religion is a form of thought control as well. The world is ran on power. Peace cannot exist with those willing to exploit the minds of others for their share, whether it be through religion, politics, media, tradition, etc. There's nothing wrong with religion. Just those who mark it to justify their actions. May all sentient beings be released from suffering and attain happiness. Peace.
