I'm not sure what Peaceful Black Metal would be considering the majority of it's lyrical message, but the depressive suicidal metal is pretty peaceful if you ask me. Look up Nyktalgia - "Lamento Larmoyant" and "Misere Nobis" I really like the vocalist, while the music is fairly simple it has pretty good bass guitar. Impressions?
Burzum, some of his stuff is pretty harsh, but some it is so melodic but dark, it's intense, very good stuff, if your into this, it sounds very doom ish, so why not look into some more doomy bands, or ambient metal?
I feel so out of touch, when I was a kid we just had "metal" and occasionally "thrash metal" Is Opeth considered black metal? if not them i'm at a loss.
I'm a sucker for speed  arty: Nah man... Opeth is a little on the "extreme" side but progressive metal. Black metal is much harsher.
You might like this, although it's somewhat raw: http://rapidshare.com/files/33837217/CROMDUBH_FallenSons_misanthropians__.zip Everyone's familiar with these kind of filesharing sites, right?
I am happy this thread is still going. Thanks for the input. Yea, I assume most poeple are farmiliar with these files, but would you mind please telling me what the file contains? I have slow internets and it would me much easier for me to just google a band name or whatever.
I like my black metal raw and evil. It's what the genre is about. And IMO should not be changed from it's roots
I find Nortt pretty peaceful. And burzum has alot of synthy keyboard kind of songs that sound relaxing.
