I'm trying to delete 250 M4P files from my computer. I have done a lot of file re-locating, and now when I try to delete the files it refuses to let me, and says that the file's location cannot be found. The only way I can get to these files is by going into My Computer, and then searching for M4P. I can see the files in there, but I cannot open file location, because there is none. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! I am very frustrated with this, and have been trying for the past three hours to get rid of these damn files. Thanks, Aly
Get a program called "Windowwasher" http://www.webroot.com/En_US/consum...r.html?WRSID=1b962b5e22d23292bcf13e7d19a6b5ca You can deep delete with it by right clicking the folder. It has a setting if you wish to overwrite the old files X many times. It also zaps old files, and that may be part of your problem. I've used this program for years. Look for a demo version, etc. x
It's possible you have some bad sectors on the hard disk. Try running the checkdisk utility. Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Check disk... something like that.
Thanks for the suggestions folks. I ended up doing a full reformat on my system out of late night frustration. Luckily I had plenty of room on an external hard drive. I had tried a few different suggestions that I found here and other places on the net, but I'm one of those people that needs an idiot's guide to everything.
