Well tomorrow my dog, Buttons, will be put down because his health has rapidly deteriorated and has no quality of life. For 17 years i have had this dog, ever since i can remember he has been there and tomorrow i say goodbye for the final time. Even typing this is making my eyes water. I thought i should say something to him before he leaves this world but i dont know what so a few ideas could help me find something to say.
There is a library of books for pet owners such as Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates, The Soul of Your Pet and Goodbye, Friend: Healing Wisdom for Anyone Who Has Ever Lost a Pet. Hotwater
I am sorry. Maybe you could just sit with him and stroke him, be with him, lie down next to him and try to see what he sees. Kiss him on the snout, and cry with him.
unfortunately i cant do this as he is staying at my mum's house tonight. i am going to meet my mum outside the vet tomorrow morning and say goodbye then, i cant go in with him ill just break into pieces if i do
If There Is One Thing You Must Do, Then That Is To Make Sure You Are By His Side In His Final Moments. Over The Years He Has Given You The Best He Is Capeable Of. DO NOT DESERT HIM AT THIS POINT IN TIME. Be There With Him. Do Not Be Embarrased By Your Tears. Vets See This Every Day. Give Him A Big Hug, And Tell Him How Much He Has Meant To You Over All Those Years. Then As He Closes His Eyes For The Final Time..... Quietly Whisper "Good-Bye".....And "Thank You" For Your "Love", In His Ear. It's Never Easy, We Have All Had To Go Through It At Some Time In Our Lives. Take Care....:grouphug: Cheers Glen.
Sorry to hear this, but its great that you care for your dog this much. To many pets get neglected. peace&love
