hey the system ain't put fourth for abusing.. you're right.. but unfortunately it does get abused... there's always some group of people that are willing to go through the tedious tasks of jumping through all these hoops so they can live "the easy life".. maybe its not 90% but then again we all know that 90% of all statistics are made up

I have back problems had 2 surgery when I was younger sometimes I get back spasms. They gave me pills but it knocks me out so I try not to take them

Mental disability is a joke, a sad horrible joke. It makes no sense for people tax money to be spent in this way, no one should be forced to pay for peoples health problems. So your brother got in a motorcycle accident? Why should someone 3000 miles away be required to pay his operations?

Social Security is an investment, it works like a 401k program, you put money in and when you need it, it's there for you. If you do not pay into Social Security you do not obtain Social Security benefits in most cases.

You could always get an under the table job, but if you ever become disabled or it comes to retirement you and have not put any savings towards it, your screwed.

I for one have never minded paying in for taxes and government services, I do sometimes wish I could pay a bit less from time to time. But in order to have a functioning society money will be needed, some people will always need some sort of assistance.

We do need to put a end to government corruption and quit the siphoning off of needed government services.

Social security isnt an investment. an investment is you putting money into something to try to get a return. with social security you are basically paying for your grandmas social security when you have that taken out of your check. you wont get that money back ever. you are relying on your grandkids to pay for your decrypit ass.

See it as you wish, but I for one am glad that folks in need can receive assistance instead of being forced to fend for them selves. Life is not easy, while most people are able to live by their own means many others struggle from many debilitating illnesses whether mental or physical.

Living on social security is not a easy life, the pay out is not large and with most cases medical costs eat up much of that income. It just gives people another option instead of becoming homeless or crawling in a hole and dieing.
