subject says it all. I decide to clear out my motley assortment of partial seed packs and start over this year. Guerrilla gardeners benefited. Now I need to start anew with companies with NO ties to Monsanto, and some container sized veggies (am I too greedy to ask about heirloom?) I'll be downsizing to an apartment with just a tad less space than I have, all with western afternoon sun. I'll be doing a DIY Earthbox, and I'm looking into vertical growing. For those who buy seed, at least to start, who do you go to that is not connected to the Evil Food Domination Empire?
Check out Seed Savers. May be a great resource for heirloom seeds and strange things that are not commercially available. Seedsavers.org I'm not a member but a friend with a small farm has been a member for years and he shares seeds with me. plant and water...plant and water...weed...plant and water...weed...HARVEST Zee
first one comes to mind, (I get on the forums there) is Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds http://rareseeds.com/seeds/ Next one comes to mind is Pinetree, https://www.superseeds.com/ Here's a webpage that has links to a whole bunch of seed co's, plus Alan Kapular is a kind of well-known plant breeder himself; called Peace Seeds: (the links are all the seed co. icons in the middle-left) http://www.ps02.cn/
Other than those already mentioned I sometimes go with Heirloom Acres Seeds www.heirloomacresseeds.com . If I am buying in bulk I usually go with them as they usually have good prices on bulk seed. It is a family business located in Missouri.
I'm not sure where to go to double-check, but other than the ones I already see here are a few Mom & I have gone through for heirloom seeds: Victory Seeds Grannys and Johnny's love, mom

:hurray: <3 I got almost all of my seeds there last year. I plan to go back this year to fill in the gaps of what I couldn't afford last year. But for the most part, my garden is totally taken care of without me even having to.
In hunting up sources for rare/heirloom seeds this week, I've run across a few more sites you may be interested in. I can't vouch for them personally, but they sure LOOK good! I will be sharing these links with my mom which means that she & her Master Gardener buddies WILL check them out this season. If anyone DOES have any info on any of these sites I'd love to hear about them!
