For using public transit, in this case one of the most unclean bus services. The fine is $150 Canadian, which is roughly $130 US now. It was my first time getting caught, I do believe I've taken this bus at least two dozen times, first time cops got on and checked tickets lol. I intend to plead guilty with an excuse, my excuse being, and this is true, I had insufficient change on me for the machine at the bus stop and the bus driver didn't have any change, they never do on these kind of buses, and I only had a $20 and I didn't feel like throwing away $17. I think it sucks, I expected to get some kind of warning or $50 max.
Eh.. I got fined $192 for throwing a cigarette out a car window. The ridiculous thing was A) I don't litter ever and yell at people for it and B) the car in front of us actually threw the cigarette and the cop refused to admit that he was wrong because my friend had a cigarette when he pulled us over. So that sucked.
