I'm 5 weeks into blooming crystal and feeding with 4n 7p 7k plant food with micro nutrients (trace elements). ok I knew the yield would b slightly down but I'm not getting any branches flopping due to the weight of bud. Any idea's on how I can boost the weight or yield up to something approaching normal?.

Try adding a sugar solution to your feeding regimne. I have had sucesss with Sugar Daddy, but their are many brands out there. Are you soil or hydro, and what type of setup do you have?

    Oh.. im sorry rock..
Maybe you need to put them back into veg, for a few weeks while in flower and then flip back to flowering.. This will really take a long time extending harvest for a while..
Ive had good experience in taking plants out of flower while buds were formed... Only to make thick branches that do need braces.. Or they will break..

a last momma plant did this because she had been 2 years old and root bound..
When she became unbound, she took off flowering. I lost a branch or two near the end due to snapping at the base. My fault cause I moved it around and twisted the potting to fast whipping the trunk.. :(
I say if you have the space time and patients its worth a shot..

Thanks peeps. I've heard of sugar before is it a special kinda sugar? coz i was was told just normal household sugar will do and also its not a food as such but helps plants take up and use more of the food u feed which could be of interest. Just a soil and box type set up with son lighting.... Cant really put them back on veg I'm getting tight 4 time on the next harvest coz it has to be ready on my birthday. Think the key was to of thicken up the branches a bit more whiles they were vegging by bending and being a bit more mean to them but had a nasty experience doing that once had one spit down the middle of the main stem by bending lol.... Black strap molasses saw that post other day never heard of that and not seen it in my local garden centre but there again there pretty useless 4 mj growing.

If you put your girls back into veg it will extend your grow time by weeks, up to you. They should have a premade sugar mix at your garden center as people use it for tomatoes. Tell the clerk that's what your growing when you ask.

Have you ever grown this strain before? Is it predominantly sativa? I have found that strains that are predominantly sativa do not start developing large buds until the last 2-3 wks before they mature. They can double or triple in size.

Never grown it before but crystal is a past high life cup winner and should to be a strong head buzz that plus its not what I'd call tight bud formation and I'm not getting many red leaf stems so could well be mainly sativa dominated. Think I'l track down that sugar based food and look out 4 a bit of late action like you said.

Crystal is predominantly indica. To increase bud production use a fertilizer that is high in phosphorous and lower in nitrogen and potash. That is ,use a fertiilzer with a high middle number. Hopefully this will help . But remember- you have to flush your plants at least two weeks before you harvest them.

Well I'm using 4-7-7 npk rated plant food not the best in the world but its in the ball park 4 blooming i'd say. Think ya rite though and there needing just that little bit extra pk and i need to step it up a bit. Think maybe a little extra home made co2 enrichment would help. Agree I always flush my plants for two weeks with just water no food dont like smoking fertilizer.

I've used Chempack 10:25:25 from the start, it's actually sold as 12.5:25:25 now for some reason.

Anyway, that's near enough to your NPK expressed as a higher ratio, i can qualify it grows me decent buds, although i use a bit less now and amend my medium as per my post in http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=330047&f=220 which serves me well, less chem's to flush as i use NPK and other additives to PH down at low dose pumping every watering, does a great job.

Over here, in West Europe, Blackstrap Molasses is marketed as Black Treacle from Tate & Lyle and definately available at Tescos main stores at around 72 E-cents (65p) a can, very good slow release energy for us too, very healthy food!

On Molasses, here's one i did earlier...
