Refer to Steven Wright: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIHZDo9NBMk&feature=related Seinfeld does nothing to me. Larry David on Curb does, however.
i was extra observant and took note of all the males laughing at my funnies tonight. i have come to the conclusion, mrmojorisin, that you are both young and naive.
lol. Ima say it again, I think most of this analysing is bullshit. I know plenty of funny girls who are popular because of it. Girls are meant to be funny but talking to someone over a pint or whatever and making them laugh is extremely different to getting up on stage and making a crowd of people laugh. I've not heard of about half of them. To add to that list I'd say; Marcus Brigstocke, Russell Howard, Michael McIntyre, Ross Noble, Frankie Boyle, Adam Hills, Dylan Moran, Ed Byrne, Andrew Maxwell as fantastic. There's more that're good/very good but I haven't seen much of their stuff so can't judge.
You should check some of those out. I have Lewis Black under 'mediocre' because I just don't find him hilarious, the dude makes good points and is pretty damn brilliant but I don't laugh out loud at his jokes. I imagine his comedy would work better in book format.
To Mojo: I will, but for the record, I don't like Dave Chapelle. I can't remember why but I know I didn't like him. And Ricky Gervais is hilarious too.
:cheers2: heres to listing all the best comedy in one simple list. nice one Jai. michael mcintyre cracks me up i would also add david mitchell! what a legend.
When you put Richard Pryor in the same category as Carlos Mencia, you discredited your entire opinion.
He hasn't made me laugh out loud once, I don't understand what the big deal is. And Carlin coming second in a list of The Greatest Stand-Up Comedians list after Pryor, puh-lease.
actually he did that when he listed carlin and williams as fantastic. everything that came after was already assumed to be nonsense by that point.
