I think it'd be drying. You'd need to do an ACV rinse or something to help remove the bs residue. Just my 2 cents :)

I'd do BS and ACV OR Bronner's ;)

I do it fairly often.. just put some baking soda in a cup, squirt some bonners in there, and fill it up with water in the shower, swirl around with my finger, and rub the foam on my head. It seems to clean well.. I'm not really sure how it stacks up against plain bonners or plain Baking soda, because I just haven't systematically payed that much attention, lol.

When I use Bronner's I usually dilute it, pour it over my head, scrub a bit, rinse it well, and use the bicarb soda after to get rid of the residue Bronner's leave in my hair. The bicarb never leaves anything in my hair, what's the ACV rinse for?

I think it is, but from what I can gather via the forums, it's oilier than some of the other solutions. For someone like me, who has normal skin, the oil might be a bit much, I haven't tried it yet. But then, I can go in the ocean for days in a row without getting an itchy scalp. I don't have the dryness issue that some people have. From my understanding, there's another group of people who's scalp needs that kind of oil treatment? That's my guess...

Bronner's leaves a lot of oil in my hair. I know there are a lot of people here who swear by it, but for some Bronner's just doesn't do the trick.

acv is a conditioner (not s residue though) that softens hair ..but its also i think acidic so can strip away some residies (its freat for cleaning greasy messes too i think..at least i think i remember hearing u can use it like amonia) so id imagine it would help clear up buildip
just dousdnt have an exactly pleasant smell it fades quick but some ppl sensative to it may be able to smell it days later so i dilute alot and add rosdemary and teatree

I use straight bicarb too, just a few tbs which I dissolve in water, then rinse out. It works great for me :D

I just cleaned with 2 tblspn DHHQ shampoo mixed with 2 tblspn of baking soda, and my dreads feel really clean!!! They're frizzy as hell, but surely clean!

Just a bump for my experiences with baking soda.

I've been pretty much just washing with the baking soda for the past month or so now. I've spaced out my washings to once a week, but today I broke that cycle. My scalp isn't as resilient as I considered it before. Last night I poked around under a few dreads and noticed the scalp was dry, with some light flaking, and some potentially damaged spots.

So I slept on it, and then this morning before I showered I spritzed some tea tree oil and water onto the scalp under the dreads. I let it sit for about a half hour before I washed it, and I really doused my head in Bronner's, hoping that the 'oil' as mentioned would alleviate some of the scalp dryness issues. I then rinsed for a couple of minutes.

I'm hoping the tea tree oil and Bronner's will help my scalp. I guess I've been washing with too many "drying" chemicals (sea salt, and baking soda are all I've used on my hair in the past month.) Also hoping that I don't get the typical Bronner's residuals.
