Hello friends!! I havent been on here in a very long time. For the past 3 months I have been locked up so it feels great to be out. Anyway, I am able to get some pretty good blotter and I havent tripped in a very long time so I am looking forward to it. How would you think acid would affect someone with BPD? My sister (whom I am very close with) really wants to dose. She is an extremely intelliget individual and shes very into mind expansion. She has bi polar disorder though, so I dont know how well she will go with lucy. I was planning on giving her a low dose the first time. Any help would be greatly appriciated. I love you all!
Welcome back dude. Generally, I would think it would not be recommended to be used on anyone with a pre-existing mental illness as this could potentially exacerbate the symptoms. If she already has bi-polar disorder she is probably on a few medications. Perhaps Quetiapine (Seroquel), this would make it very difficult to trip because it is a 5HT antagonist which is the same receptor that LSD is believed to work on. LSD was originally used to treat patients with schizophrenia but did not show any conclusive results. LSD has also shown to be an antagonist for schizophrenic like symptoms or even developing the mental illness. However, it is difficult to tell the potential medical benefits LSD can have on the 5HT receptor as a lot of anti-depressant medications act on the same serotonin receptor. I have friends who were on SSRI's for depression and still had a great time, but didn't experience any significant repercussions. Its your and most importantly her call. Be sure to explain to her what could potentially happen. This requires a very strong judgment call on your part. Goodluck.
the results seem to vary. i know someone who has bpd who has tripped before and is fine, but ive also heard of peopel with bpd having very difficult trips. check out what erowid has to say on the subject.
Yeah that's what i meant; like, a "normal" person's feelings lie within this range: |-----| a person with BPD has this range: |---------------| so during the LSD trip they might be |-*--------------| super depressed |--------------*-| frighteningly manic |--------*-------| having a great time their range is simply bigger, but their odds of having a bad time are the same as anyone's afaik
I was diagnosed with bipolar, schizotypal pd, and anxiety...doesn't really mean anything except that my brain works differently from a lot of people and in unexpected, creative ways many times.. I trip a lot. Never had a bad trip. The only bad drug experience I had was with a legal one, prescribed by a shrink (big surprise, eh). Just remember, some people will get fucked from acid and some won't. Just like some will get fucked by bipolar or schizophrenia medication and others will benefit. Life is a risk
what's that? staring at the city on your bedroom ceiling for 4 hours? Now that I think of it, a lot of people who like sid are bipolar..lots of musicians.
im pretty bipolar... honestly I think LSD cured me because it made me recognize that my lows really aren't lows and my highs really aren't highs
