last time i shaved my head, the razor really dried out my scalp something fierce and it peeled, and was super gross. would using an electric razor help prevent this? i have some hair clippers, but they're for giving a buzz cut, and i can't manage to actually shave my head with them. besides, they're old and dont work much of the time these days anyway
nair..? When I was a cool teen I was dumb and shaved most of my head (buzz cut) and left some hair..I cut off my hair and then used my dad's electric shaver... you could just give the electric razor a go...
thing is i only have trimmers, not an electric razor. i use a real razor for my face. so i'd have to buy one to try it, but i dont want to drop 60+ bucks on a nice electric razor if i dont know it will work well
You could drop like a few dollars and go to like those cheap hair places and have someone do it and see what they use... Or when you shave it with a razor make sure to keep it moisturized after so it won't dry out...
ideally, when my clippers are in good working order, i cut my hair every week and a half to two weeks. when its that short, it doubles in length really fast... if i go for the mr clean thing, i'd want to shave every other day or so to keep it looking proper this is why i dont want to pay to get it done, but i suppose i could. but money is in short supply for me
because you would give them $9 and they would look at you like you're an idiot and ask where the other $6 is...
my hair is like GOLD back in the 90s i let the hair grow for 8 years (till i got feed up of looking like a girl WHY? cause my freaken hair is color GOLD cant have more blonde then my hair) well someone from a cancer foundation payed me 2000$ to shave my head and give them my hair im guessing it was used for someone whom needed some hair for their head since ive never let it grom more them 3 months till i shave it again and again...!
I used clippers when I went bald. And I was properly bald afterwards. The clippers we have have several different settings depending on how long or short you want your hair to be. Maybe get one of those? Super easy to use and no rash.
oh, mine have different guides on them. i usually use #1, which is the closest you can usually get without a proper shave, and it looks like i shaved my head two or three days ago. but with just the bare clippers, i cant manage to get it to work properly
don't waste your money on an electric shaver. IMO they don't work for shit. use a women's shave creme (they are much more moisturizing... i like the gillette stuff, it's a gel that foams) for sensitive skin, use real razors not plastic disposables, and exfoliate the top of your head. that's the best way i know to get a satisfactory shave job on the head or any other place. *disclaimer* i've never actually shaved a head, i'm just going off what works on legs and *other* very sensitive body parts. :blush5:
muahaha well thanks for the input the thing is i'd rather not be in the bathroom at school with my whole head all lathered up taking a razor to it  with my clippers, when they work, i can just cut my hair in my room in privacy and then go hop in the shower.
I've been shaving my melon for ten years or more...so I know a thing or two, lol. When I first started shaving it I used a razor and chrome-domed the fucker once a week. That got old quick. Too much hassle, razor burn, etc. After that I just used the clippers with no guide, like you, once every week or two. That worked out well until a couple years ago when I started having SERIOUS dry skin issues, especially in the winter. Damn, long story short...I use Nivea Creme on my noggin every other day. It works like a charm and has a hint of muskiness to it. Not an over done smell...just right. Maybe give that a try.
I'd love to shave my head, I hate my fucking hair but I won't until I can grow anything even resembling a beard. Goddamn babyfaced life.
The dudes in my family have thick hair that doesn't fall out. Starts going gray pretty young, though.
