Ok, that was a bit dramatic. But it is still sad I have a question for anyone who has ideas: How do you remove human hair that has been felted to human hair?? Ha ha, you see, I was thinking about adding extensions to my locks (it was one of those things you think about doing until you get up and do it), and so I ended up getting some old human hair leftover from extensions long past (that was another tragic tale on it's own, which should have been enough to teach me to leave them alone). I thought I would add one or three to see how I would like it, so that it wouldn't be such a big deal if I hated it. Alas, I do hate them. They don't feel anything like my hair (no duh), they are coarse and it just feels weird having them. So I figured I would just remove them at my next shower. I tried to separate them at the point of felting, but there was no success. I have just tried water thus far (I had heard it work with wool... but they aren't really the same I guess). I was thinking conditioner, but I don't know. Has anyone heard any stories about removal, or has successfully removed any from their own hair? I have learned a good lesson: extensions are not for me. Never again!!!
are the extensions just knotted at the bottom? if so, try the conditioner in that area, cuz it'll unknot anything down there and you might be able to get them out.
I did the old twist and rip with the extensions, and the using the loose top of the extension and the loose bottom of my hair I matched them up to the knotted parts and felted. There's about an inch of felting business. I will try conditioning them, because I really don't wanna cut my hair Oh well.
