This friend of ours came up to me'n'JuJu the other day & told us that Flatnose Kelly was in a book & that he saw something about Kelly being in a fight while checking out the book on-line. So I google Flatnose Kelly & found a book called "American Nomads' by Richard Grant. Here's the exerpt I found http://books.google.com/books?id=vQs2KmNx_agC&pg=PA229&lpg=PA203&ie=ISO-8859-1&output=html Kelly & us go way back....Kel made our wedding announcement at Main Circle back in '89, we were there when his daughter was born, & we saw him briefly last time we were in Kansas City but that's been quite a while back. Kelly being in fights is nothing new...he had his head busted open in '90 just in the few hours of him ditching us on the way Home to MN & us getting Home but since I hadn't really heard the Kelly/Animal/Lori Lori story. Anyone else have anything to add to the book author's take? (Oh & does anyone know when Lori, Lori passed on to the Eternal Home)
I've seen that book! Most accurate description of A-Camp, the "Classic" A-Camp, that is, not these new drunken thug wannabes I have ever read.
i bet lots of rainbows are in books. however that is way cool that yo personally know that dude, sweet!
I'd agree, very accurrate description....'cept the author left out that Kelly would be accepted back in A-camp after suitable drying out time & a few apologies & hugs.
Surprisingly enough, there are very few books mentioning Rainbow. Rainbow isn't included in any 60's history book I've ever read, tho many of them cover '66-'75. There's that book that the sociologist wrote...Neiman or something like that; I think Barry mentioned Rainbow in his book....a couple of other private press books; but that's all I've ever seen & I'm a big reader.
