It seems like everyone around is sad, depressed or bored.

Well, in the post 9-11 era with all these wars cropping up, who would not be depressed? I was lucky enough to be born at a time that I did not understand Vietnam. My heydey in high school was about the time Van Halen's debut album came out. Even tho we were all warned thru films, etc. that we better get our s^%& together, global warming was coming. Here it is. Young people are confused and scared, so am I. Now there is a new president coming, everything's changed. You young people missed out on some good times, but so did I being born to early(I'm in my 40's now). The music I like is dead along with a lot of my heroes from my time(Richard Wright of Pink Floyd died recently....lots of others). What music I did like I'm burned out on. After so many years ANY song gets old. My best advice: look forward to spring, start fresh. But most of all, get a college degree. Get it while you're young. Then you can control your life. Get women, whatever, but be in control. When your 40+ you will thank me. Your chances of getting your way are better with a college degree. I messed up. Take it from someone who knows. Don't end up being 38yo and taking orders from a 25yo.

Actually, "the post 9-11 era" doesn't have so depressing effect on me. First I'm not American so I don't take ti "so" personally, of course I cried when that happen and I know it was a tragedy, but tragedies happen every day, innocent people die every day. I was born to a "communist" (it had nothing to do with communism, honestly) regime, many members of my family spent some years in the SSSR work camps, so I know what it's like to be in danger and not to be able to protect yourself and your family. Not that I would remember some of these things, I was born in 1988, but I've been listening to these stories since I was a little child.
To Obama: Again, I'm not American - I don't take it so personally, though I know - again - that it's go influence on the whole world. Sure it's a big change, I'm curious about it, but it doesn't confuse me or something.
Music and dying musicians: well my fav musicians are also retired but... well.. it happens. There are some good young bands as well... Of course I'll be desperate and will cry all day long when the death knocks on Keith Richards' doors, but as long as the people I love are alive, I don't get myself depressed by thinking about their (or my) deaths.
(All these facts I've just named may have caused I'm a bit too much cynical, I know I am. But I've heard that many times, that Europeans are more cynical than Americans.)
College: Yup. First semester right now.
Your situation: I understand you... Honestly, I can't say I can imagine what you're going through, but... Yes, that's.. You know..

I hope you won't take this personally or something, I know the world's going through hard times and it might have caused the "global" depression, but...

I get a new found sense of optimism and energy every January.
April-ish and late year (Oct/Nov) are times I find harder to adjust to...

It is weird to think you don't speak English in "real life."
I think you should type in your native tongue and force us all to learn thingy, you know that language you speak...

Is it..? To make it even weirder, I've never been to English speaking countries (except Malta :D )

I might type in Czech, but I guess the only person who would understand would be Piaf.. :)
(This sentence in Czech: Mohla bych klidně psát česky, ale hádám, že jediný, kdo by mi pak rozuměl, by byla Piaf. :) )

Though I'm not sure if you saw the right letters... I mean if your browser "reads" Czech letters, so...

This is our alphabet. :D Plus every vowel has its "long" version..
