im thinking of getting my septum done tomorrow but im not sure wt gauge to put in. i was thinking 16? what do u guys think?
Why 16? Typically the standard for most initial piercings is 14. The septum is not usually done with anything smaller than 14.
I've seen people with 18 guaged septume. Maybe they went down a size after it healed. Ask the studio how small they can go.
studio? lol no studios around here, as far as i know. anyway i changed my mind and got a second piercing on the right side of my nose i love it!!
I would say maybe it depends on geographical location, but you are only a couple hours from where I am. Anywhere from 20 to 10 could be standard. Go with what is acceptable in your area then...
I mean, they just asked me what I wanted. I don't think it has anything to do with geographical location.
Some shops say the smallest gauge they will do is a 14 because larger gauges have less chance of "cheese cuttering" and ripping out. Others have no reservations about putting in a smaller one. IMHO, a shop should inform you of the risk of a smaller one, but give you what you want.
