One thing I dont get about the oral DMT experience: It appears that at its core the dmt experience is produced from the interaction of DMT and an MAOI. So instead of a complex and uninterpretable or unreliable recipe for the experience, why not just a percentage quote i.e. 30% caapi, 70% psychotria by weight or volume. So, 1 cup powdered this, and 2 cups powdered that boiled for an hour, strained, reduced, cooled, and drunk. Seems like it ought to be that easy...

depends of what your going for i suppose. the ratios greatly effect the quality of the expirence. i find caapi alone is an increadible expirience. most curanderos brew heavy caapi ayahuasca because this is the "mother plant", its really the one they want to work with, its the teacher. the "lover plants" are but a pinch of light. think of it as traveling into a cave. caapi can be likened to the cave, you can go quite deep and encounter some beautiful things, but chacruna is the torch. i dont personally feel the torch is nessesery all the time, but for alot of people it seems, thats the only reason their visiting the cave.

ayahuasca is a many layered expirience....your working on many different levels at once. physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, energetically, astrally .....everywhere in between. the longer i work with aya the more concious i am as to just how much is going on, and it is increadibly vast.

personally i think it valuable to start with caapi only, to first develop a "relationship" with this plant. learn how to listen to caapi, get comfortable with the process and the effects it has on your body, and then add the other plants. but this is just my personal opinion.

Thats actually a very tripwise and philosophical approach. Curiously, one recipe on the web calls for "50 grams of b. caapi boiled with 85 grams of p. viridis per person." Sounds like this mixture would cut out the "wise" and just leave the "trip"?

What scale would you believe exists? If you would start 100% caapi on one end of the spectrum, what would the other end of the spectrum be? 50/50?

    thanks

ps. swim has 56 grams of powdered chacruna and 114 grams of b. caapi. What conclusion would you or a curandero come to about these quantities/proportions of powdered material? Supposing swims intentions were to experience a classic peruvian indian experience of personal growth and healing?
