Hey everyone, i am new to the site and just wanted to introduce myself and tell you guys that i am starting to get dreads, it has not even been a month but i am patient. Hopefully my hair will lock up more by summer. Any tips about having neglected dreads would be awesome thanks everyone. -Korey...Here is a picture of me so you know how everything looks right now
haha hmm im not so sure what a williamsburg hipster is lol. But I mostly listen to crust punk and folk punk. so yeah lol
lol alright some good bands are (defiance, ohio), mischief brew, this bike is a pipe bomb, wingnut dishwashers union. That should get you off to a good start.
Yay. So yeah, congrats on starting the dreads. Only tip I can give is try Dr Bronnors soap, but you probably knew that already.
thank you . Yeah i have heard that of that stuff but do not use it. I was going to get some of it but i was not sure if it was residue free or not. But i just ordered some of this. http://www.goddess-within.com/038435300105.html I have been told that aloe vera will help a lot. so thats why i got it.
Whoa, that looks cool. That site in general seems good. Yeah, Dr B makes certian people's hair feel greasy but a lot of people here swear by it. It's all a matter of testing it out and if it sucks it can be used as a body wash.
haha yeah, when i first went to the health food store to look for some soap, i asked the lady if they have any free residue soap and she looked at me like i was from another world. So she didnt help very much haha
lol yeah,im pretty sure the stuff i ordered will be the thing that i am going to use from now on. To me it looks right on
You pulling an all nighter, buddy? Yeah, I'm about to try out that soap too. But watch, the shipping and handling will be like 5 bucks :[
haha yeah it was i was bummed about that. I tried findin it at all my local stores but couldent find anything. Really bummed me out. haha and no i am about to sleep. Ill be sure to talk to you soon.
that's cool, it says it's residue free but one of the ingredients is "fragrance".. hope it doesn't leave a residue... good luck with your dreadies. where are you from?
I have a natural side part that created the most interesting looking dreads on my head. I originally set out to get rid of this side part, but alas it didn't work. It's just the way my hair lays I guess. I didn't go the natural route at first though. I backcombed , regretted it, and then just let my hair do its own thing. But here are some of my pics to some dreads with a side part. http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=339423&f=209
