Sorry for all the posts, but I really enjoy talking with people I have something in common with.

so, as to my point, is anyone else not really a fan of soma? I have heard some good things on here, and I've taken them before only to find out they just make me feel weird and pass out. Not like the good off feeling that xanax gives you, just .... weird. I don't like it very much.

    Maybe it's just me?

I'm not a fan of Soma for the reason that it killed one of my best friends last year. He was taking 12 to 16 of the 350mg tablets once, sometimes twice a day. He'd get convulsions after his dose, couldn't talk, couldn't walk, and he'd go into a really deep sleep. But that aside, I have mixed feelings about the effects of it. Had times where it gave me a really warm and glowing euphoria, and other times where it just made me shaky and out of it where I didn't feel so good. It metabolizes into an active metabolite called meprobamate, which was prescribed for anxiety under the brand name, Miltown.

I like them for migraines since they cause a numbing effect at doses between 750-1000mg. Soma is one of those I could take or leave. I don't look for it, but if it finds me, I'll take it.

This should be moved to Pharms. Soma is a muscle relaxant, not an opiate.

Muscle relaxants can be similar to benzos but they make you alot more tired than benzos. Benzos give me some euphoria, whereas muscle relaxants get me a little high before making me wanna go to bed. I have done soma before and I somewhat enjoyed it. its nothing i'd kill my family over, though.

Flexeril is pretty much my favorite muscle relaxant if im in the mood for muscle relaxants.

Soma is best used in conjunction with an opiate.

Soma is much better then Flexeril in terms of recreational use, also.

Well I've had better access to Flexeril and have only done Soma once so I probably shouldn't judge Soma too much.

I advise anyone taking soma to be careful just like other benzos they can get dangerous fast

    ^Soma isn't a Benzo.

It lowers the seizure threshold though...so it is very dangerous.

damn sorry to hear that. As for my feelings on soma, I've dosed on it twice, but nowhere near 12-16 350mg tablets. That's obviously why your friend died. I would pop 3 350mg pills, a xanax bar, and smoke some herb and feel pretty good. although the second time I dosed this much I took too much xanax with the 1050mg, and funny as it sounds, I was so fucked up I fell down the stairs in my crib. It was late and I didnt wanna turn on the lights in the hallway, so I try running down the stairs and I bust my ass and almost broke my fuckin ankle. I was hopping around for like a week after, I didnt wanna go to the hospital for a sprained ankle. To this day my ankle still hurts when I twist it a weird way.

and after that day I said fuck soma.

Thanks, J.Thunders and Kilo. It sucks losing friends, ya kno. He had been taking the Soma in that dose for quite awhile before it caught up to him. Before that, he was on 600mg of MScontin a day for back pain, and xanax for anxiety. (Ever notice how Xanax is made up from the first 3 letters of anxiety?) I'm surprised they didn't have him on OC since it has more stimulating properties. He was very depressed and the morphine could have contributed to it.

When it comes to Flexeril vs. Soma, I definately choose Soma. Flexeril doesn't work directly on the CNS. If you research it, you'll find that it's almost identical in molecular structure to Elavil. So, basically, it's a tricyclic antidepressant! All it does for me is make me flat out tired. No happy, fuzzy feelings whatsoever! Soma and Xanax are a good combo.. in moderation, of course. Maybe 2 somas and 1 xanax bar. Nice synergy.

^^I agree, I like taking Soma when I'm fishing.
that way when it hits me I'm busy and won't pass out.
If I'm at home I just pass the fuck out:eek:
