yeah this has probably been asked 25 millions times , but how long should i leave a hemp hair wrap on a loose dread to tighten it? thanks. ho and btw everybody, please try not to start a debate on whether to have a hair wrap or not ... thats not the point of that thread
I have one on one of my dreads from the beginning, the roots above it are knotted, the actual hair inside the wrap feels normal, I don't even want to look! I'm not starting a debate for reference, just providing some key info on making your decision, wraps are ok for preventing congo-ing, but as far as tightening dreads, it does nout
when my dreads were just babies i had a hemp wrap fromthe roots to about a foot past the ends that was veryu handy in tying my dreads up thgeres no set lengtrh u can do just a few inches to as far past the end as u want im not sure they help tighten any faster then if you dont have it in but over tyime it will tighten either way wraps should be thought of as more decoration then anything helpful though just lil info..it will seenm stiff at 1st..but as u wash it more often it will get more flexible and softer its also that movement when washing and the ability to move once its more flexible that will help it dread inside the wrap if u do a hemp wrap id strongly suggest you research the knotted typoes its simple but not as fast but will last many times linger the typical speed wrap type can fall apart prettyy quickly oh and the knotted type are far more decorative too
