Wear the wool cap, but don't rub. Read around to find out why advice to 'rub' is disinformation.

Thanks again for all the info!

enayes, I think I've seen you on other forums? I was actually reading some of your info, I did read that you were barely starting your dreads, how are they going so far?

Zilla, I don't have curly hair, or it depends, I have wavy hair, but when I don't wash it, and just wet it, it gets pretty curly, and yeah I thought it would lock up faster like this, but don't wanna go wrong so had to ask, thanks for mentioning your experience on this.:)

What's up everyone, I need some advice again, my dreads are pretty much gone lol, and I wanted to know if I did anything wrong? BTW, don't want to show my face :D
Here they are the first day(december 30th I think ), most of them were done (finished them the next day). They looked ok, not the best but whatvere just wanted to give them a kick start.

Ok, here they are, around a week later.

And this is my hair as of today, it's around the 19th day since I first started them.

I haven't combed at all ever since, and I have been washing my hair around every 4 days, to a week. So I've washed it like 4 times maxed since I did them, and when I wash it I wash it with DR bronners soap(dilluted w/water), these things pretty much came apart, will they actually start to dread again later on? im dissapointed right now damn it

yea they will dread just fine
your hairs lil short thats all
backcombing tends to fall out just like that its normal
backcombings a waste of time in many cases anyways
stop woerrying let it gropw and give it several months your doinbg fine..but you wont see alotta progress till u getr a couple more inchges of growth

and why dont you want tp show your face?
theres no psycho stalkers here that will come chop u up or anything
the worsre thing that will happen if u show your face is one of these weirdo dready freaks might think your cute

My hair is about the same length as yours now, so I too need to gain more length. I do have a couple of areas that there is noticeable knotting and one patch that feels like a dread. But I'm fine with waiting because that's the only way to get locks. What other forum have you seen me on? The only other one I really go on is InsideHoops.

I wash whenever my hair feels too greesy and smells just a little, then i know i cant go wrong, i find everyone's hair and head maintnance to be slightly different, whats good for one is not nessesarily good for the other as everyone produces sweat and oils at a different rate, so i would suggest to pay attention to your hair, if it feels like it needs a wash then go for it, intuition is dreadlocks best ally and only you can know exactly when to wash your hair, my washings average out to be once every 6 days, then as my dreads mature i wash every3-4 days, in the summer i end up washing more and in the winter less. As for loose dreads after washing, thats not to worry over, they will get looser before tighter its just the process, dont play with the dreads too much trying to make them tighter or you may weaken and damage your dread and that wouldnt be a good thing. Good luck man and trust that intuition.

I slightly wavy fine hair, and backcombed the top of my head. Almost all of what i backcombed has fallen out, and about 6 monthes later relocked. I also wash my hair every two or three days, and atleast rince it everytime i shower due to my activities.

the main thing is to relax and let it do it's thing.

Enayes, Im not sure what other forum it was, im not a member on it, I just found it on google and read some info on dreads.

Sativa, my hair does feel a little greasy sometimes, but im still only washing on fridays only, I figured it might be greasy now, but if I keep washing only once a week my scalp will produce less oil, eventually.

Cargo, Yeah I hope mine relocks too, but damn I just gotta be patient, 6 months ahhhh..lol but theres nothing else I can do so whatever
