Hello dear forumites! I'm new here but have a lot of respect and like all of the hippie ideas so far. Well, now to bussiness: I swore long ago to make history and finally am getting the chance to do some, I was promoted to Headmaster of Education here in my city, and unlike all those bureaucrats that talk a lot and do nothing, I really wanna change things. I believe the only way Activism can win once and for all is by winning the minds of the masses and the resources to make things work, so I started an education program with the purpose of educating people and teaching them to be aware and more importantly TO CARE about politics and what happens in the world, like the enviroment, our rights, etcetera. But recently I've come at loss with estructuring the program, so if someone could help me design it, like. What would you like people to be aware of? What do you think people should learn that's ommited in school? Rigth now I've added Proactivity in the program as people need to learn that they can change things, that the people united will really never be defeated. That and also some philosophy so that people start caring about existence and think about what really matters to fight about. What do you think guys? And sorry if my post sounds arrogant, I'm only a student that has (mostly by luck) become enmeshed in politics, but I really really want to change things, and find your cause and the Activist purpose inspiring. First off, whats up brother I think it is of utmost importance to deal with issues such as misinformation in the political and social spheres which are only enforcing negative values on the people. We have already been through ridiculous and damaging times such as alcohol prohibition and we are repeating the same mistakes we have made time and time again. It is quite dejecting to see our government misdirect its people so effectively in limiting their basic human needs for development and progress. While it would be nice to see change on a global scale it is much easier to deal with issues on the home front, as we would have less problems with international politics. The question of outside influence then comes into play and it is indeed a subject I know little about. I know what the people need and want, as many of us do. We know what is right and wrong, and are failing to actualize that reality on our streets. Would it not be a simple and effective change, creating legitimate jobs for educated scientists and other learned people in the fields of psychology, and public health to work to reform drug laws in both Canada and the U.S.? Imagine if you will government supported buildings where clean, stable products are provided along with a license to ingest said product only obtainable along with a more fuller understanding of said product than one would get say, at the corner store. Facts are facts, citizens of our countries ingest millions of dollars worth of drugs monthly, yearly, and will continue to do so for quite some time I expect. The government has neglected to effectively deal with the issue in that they have PUSHED on their people negative values attributed to the experience. It is now up to criminal organizations to control said uneducated fools from pushing dangerous products on the street, further damaging the progress of the community at large and also putting a bad face on something which lacks the capacity to be judged as good or bad. This creates another problem, making respectable citizens of the community criminals, forcing them to act in ways which I am sure are against their pure character in that they must defend masses from , quick buck seeking young people- who lack the understanding necessary to perform the task they are attempting successfully. This makes their job infinitely harder in that they must defend from misunderstanding from both governmental and public forces, in an attempt to defend the basic human rights of others. Identifying current controllers of said traffic is an unnecessary, time and energy consuming task... Much more effective would be government supported supply of education and products in a safe community environment. How dangerous is approaching this issue on a legal scale? What criminal attention would a serious attempt at rectifying this horrible situation bring about? How can we effectively reduce this illegitimate fear in our community?
