does anyone here like afi? not just there hit songs, but everything? its sometimes harsh, but usually groovy stuff
most people are probably going to say they suck for some reason or another, but i like them. their music has changed alot over time. i think black sails in the sunset or shut your mouth and open your eyes are my favorite albums. shut your mouth was actually the first punk cd i heard other than green day, so its more of a nostalgia thing than anything else. the only think ive never really liked about AFI is the whole image thing. davey havok is just too gothed out for me.
I really can not stand AFI. For some reason their music just grates on my nerves. My AFI fan freinds think I am an idiot because of it, but I can't bring myself to listen to them.
Oh, AFI is fantastic. Davey's voice = Delish. I really dislike The Art of Drowning, but I am in love with Black Sails in the Sunset. Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes is fantastic listening, too. My favorite song would have to be "Narrative of Soul Against Soul"
Me. At least now. I only really like "Art of Drowning" and "Black Sails in the Sunset.' Their new album is closer to Pop-Rock than it is to the Dark, Hard Rock they had with Black Sails and Art of Drowning. Not to mention his lyrics in "Sing THe Sorrow" are lame when compared to their two previous albums. But that's just me. Peace
Davey's appearance kind of scares me now....he used to look like such a badass with the spike of hair goin down his face. Yet the music just keeps evolving. I am a big fan of their older stuff like "Answer that and Stay Fashionable" and the CD's to follow. Their latest CD i thought showed a lot more talent then earlier ones but who can't resist the "Whoah's" and "Go's" of AFI?
I've only heard 2 of their songs, so I can't really judge, but I liked what i heard. I can't remember the names of the songs, but i know they were REALLY good!
yeah, i like the whole Flock of Seagulls more than his gothed out look now, but whatever works. personally, answer that and stay fashionable is a bit too corny for me. to me, that album was just typical punk rock for me. very proud of ya was still the same style of punk, but it didnt seem so corny. i like shut your mouth b/c its so much more aggressive. black sails, art of drowning and sing the sorrow i think are alot more creative though, with the almost goth punk style going. i know they are probably sell outs and whatnot, but i still like them alot. God Called In Sick Today is the greatest song ever.
