My friend took me to a spa place for my birthday and we used the steam room & sauna and afterwards when my dreads dried they smelled funky & musty. I washed them in a mild solution of Tea Tree oil but even after a couple of shampoos some of them still smell musty when wet, they always smelled great when wet or dry so far, so I'm a bit freaked. What should I do? Thanks, Watched the Obamarama last night, congrats on a new president!
Soak them in a mix baking soda, vinegar (or lemon juice), and water. The funk is just something that sticks in your hair (especially if you were in the steamer for a while, much like your hair would smell like chlorine for a while if you went swimming in a pool for a while). Usually funk tells you that there's mold in your hair which can be fixed up with a couple soaks and washes. But I'm betting if it just got smelly after you were in a steam room there isn't mold there just some bad smells (you know those Febreeze commercials where it clings to those smell particles - I think it's probably like that for you).
I'd just wash 'm with some nice shampoo, just let the shampoo in for like 10 minutes orso, then wash out, use some coconut oil jumm
man, after eight years of Bush in power I would have thought there's every reason to get at least a little excited..... Back on topic, yeah I'd go with either baking soda and tee tree oil or a few ACV rinses. I'm sure it'll go away after a few washes.....
mine were gettin' a wee bit stinky too I never had that issue before, but was thinking it might be from wearing winter hats. I *just* deep-cleaned them with kyndmama's concoction as it's been awhile since I've done it (I'm literally sitting here with the towel on my head right now). I'll let you know if it helps with the smell! Plan B is an acv rinse.
AVC is the best for stinky and moldy. Soak 'em in some of that for 20 or so and then follow up with the DCC. ( It makes your head tingle in a special way when the vinegar hits the bicarb)
Yeah people in large are totally ignorant and naive. We should vote for someone with sound principles, high morals, and a good record. He is none of those. Politically he hasn't done a goddamn thing. He should try fixing the state of Illinois before trying to fix the entire country. But how could he know that with his whopping 4 years of experience. Sorry back to the topic...
I love steam rooms! mmmmmmm, haven't been in one in ages.don't want my dreads to get stinky. why do you think this happens?
steam rooms are bacteria farms heat and moisture..thats all u need to grow molt and mildew and alotta nastiness and on to obama in 1 day in office hes already fixed some of bushes biggest mistakes, ending the torture chambers if alkl he ever does is undo the mistakes bush made hed be the greattest president we ever had (think abnout it, bush was by far the worse and it will take the best just to undo the dammage ) i dont doubtr he'll make mistakes and not be perfect...but for 1 day in office his track records a thousdand times better then bushes
so fyi... it's been a couple of days and the deep clean worked. no more stinky dreads. this I recommend.
