A Very Hippie-ish album. "Hidden Treasure" "Many A Mile To Freedom" and "Rainmaker" are the best songs.
Yes, and the title cut is my favorite Traffic song....and what a fine cover. Makes you wish vinyl had never gone away.....
It's interesting that the songs are kinda split up 3 for 3 between the music business and the power of nature.
i like better this album than it's follow up from 73... they lose something... i know that Ric Grech leaved the band in 72 and Gordon too (i'm not sure for Gordon)... This is the reason why 71' "Low spark of the high heeled boys" is my best Traffic album, more hippie community in a way...and a little less jazzy and more rock than it's follow-up... NB: And Genesis were huge fan of Traffic ! (and everybody forgot Traffic!) Rest in peace brotha Capaldi
Oh Yeah, i forgot about that. Their Drummer Jim Capaldi just died. Although he didn't play the drums on this album. He played congas, bongos, tambourine and maracas. What about their earlier stuff, like "Dear Mr. Fantasy" and "Paper Sun", etc, anybody like that?
yup, I do. Ive quite enjoyed the early singles. paper sun, hole in my shoe, here we go round the mulberry bush.....
Does anybody know what that loud distorted instrument on the title track is? It sounds like an extremely distorted organ, but I'm not too sure.
